OfficerFive0's GTA V WIP [Current Project: MSP + Washtenaw County]

im considering doing separate cars for the detective and slicktop units. that way i don't have to deal with that grill problem and the chrome trim for the unmarked is actually chrome.

so there will be 4 cars instead of 2 (the older and newer ones)

what do you think?

)please tell me as i dont know how to fix it as of yet

You can just change the misc name, for example if now you have misc_c, rename it to misc_d. It's happens after importing other yft to you DEV save.

What do i think? I think it'll be another awesome release beside the CHPCVPI pack that was released some days ago by Mephisto. And i'm glad you take your time and don't release crap like the other guy with his LAPD slicktop. I wonder why he got 5 five star reviews.

Will they be addon vehicles? (not replacing anything)

i dont know to how do addons

Its simple, give them their own carvariations and vehicles meta. Basically copy the Police files, rename them and you now have yourself an add-on vehicle

Any folder that contains a vehicles meta and carvaritaions meta, so that would be any of the dlc patches that added new vehicles. Most people seem to use Mpchristmas2 like the unmarked CVPI pack. I got one car to work, but the textures were effed due to my poor veh meta editing skills. I don't have any tutorial I pretty much learnt from what Nightkid did with his pack

Yes, but at the bottom of the vehicles meta you must add the <parent> and <child> lines

So if you were to name on of the vics 'police5'

you have to add at the bottom of the meta

 <Item>
      <parent>vehicles_poltax_interior</parent>
      <child>police5</child>
    </Item>

If you dont the car will be untextured.

Its pretty easy once you get a grasp of the way R* has coded the game, even for a buffoon with 0 IT experience like me :tongue:

does it always have to be vehicles_poltax_interior?

For vehicles that are replacing Police, Police2, Police3,police 4 & sheriff yes, and 90% of the standard cars also use this

Police Transport and riot use

<parent>vehicles_van_interior</parent>

And i'm not too sure what the SUV's use :/

vehicles_cav_interior is the SUV's

From what i understand the parent/child system determines which of the 5 vehicle interiors the car will use and even though Modded cars have their own interiors it seems like they still need the parent/child or the game gets confused with the texturing

heres the direct one from Nightkids CVPI pack which is a 10x better example then mine

  <Item>
      <parent>vehicles_poltax_interior</parent>
      <child>cvpi3</child>
    </Item>
