Police vehicle installation bug

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Im having a problem at the moment whereby any police vehicle I install into the police.yft and police.ytd. Basically I use a mod folder and I've never had issues with this in the past however when the bug first occured I got a fresh vehicles folder to place in my mods folder assuming it was a vehicle bug. However no matter what vehicle model I use the bug is the same. The bug is as follows, when i install a vehicle, I open it up in OpenIV To make sure the model isnt bugged and the textures are correctly placed. I then load ingame to check out the police vehicle (Ive used LAPD CVPI's, Sheriff chargers and the new Met BMW), When i load the vehicle from trainer the model appears for a moment. The model then changes back to the default police1 vehicle, however the tires are missing, the alloys are sticking about 3m out to the side and the lighbar is all over the place.

Ive tried everything I can think of including completely replacing the mod folder (my original game files are unaltered) however nothing is working.

Thanks

Officer Swift

Further update, When i walk away from the vehicles, the texture and model changes to what its meant to be however as soon as I get close to it again, it reverts back to a buggy mess!

Make sure you've replaced the correct model. If you have no mod "DLC" added, you need to replace the police files located in (\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64e.rpf\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf\). If you have extra files for the "police" you can add them in there too.

There are 2 groups of files, totaling 4. If I remember correctly, 1 group is for the "LOD" (distance) and the other group is for close-ups. Originally only police.yft and police.ytd reside in the vehicles.rpf, but most mods come with 2 extra files, named +hi and _hi at the end. I haven't experienced any issues adding them to the RPF.

Further, if you've already done all this, I can only recommend to rebuild the archive as that has helped for me when I installed a car modification.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium
