Semi Multiplayer Group?

Featured Replies

Hey guys

I'm pretty new to LCPDFR and I have been having a blast since I got it installed. I don't remember exactly where I saw it, but I went out and bought GTA IV for the PC ( I own it for the PS3 orginally) just for the mod, and I'm glad I did. I've been having a great time.

I noticed now that there are multiplayer groups, but I've read that LCPDFR is very unstable online, so I got to wondering if there are such things as a semi-multiplayer group...and I'll explain what I mean by that.

Basically, no one wants their game crashing every one or two hours of play, so I figured why not have a group on the web, that uses the single player system to make patrols? Once a patrol is complete, the officer would come to this website (likely a forum) and post about their patrol (kind of like paperwork)

There could be a set of departments (one for each area of Liberty City) and officers could move up in the ranks depending on their time on the force or through their actions, ect. A dispatch like system would tell a person where to patrol based on their department, and for how long to patrol in real time (like maybe an hour to an hour and a half).

Does anyone else think this is plausible, stupid, or already established?

Thanks in advance!

Theres pretty much already something of this, BraveHear created it and its currently hosted on our servers, its call MDC, here is the link: http://mdc.lcpdfr.com/mainlogin.php

Thanks Justin! Immediately after I had posted this, I ran across that thread and was reading and trying to understand exactly how it works. I posted in their thread too. My understanding is there is a sort of dispatch system that you can respond too, yet the webpages' events are not linked to the in-game events, so I'm confused as to how one is supposed to take any actions. I'm not trying to be snarky or insulting, if that is how I sound, because I'm very interested in participating myself, but I just don't know how, lol.

For example you stop a car in game (failure to yield to a traffic control device - i.e. they ran a red light) you get to the car and say the reason for stop, give me your ID etc, then on the MDC system you generate a name and license plate for the vehicle that you stopped, and run that information through the MDC system online, this may come back that the vehicle is stolen in which case you would arrest the subject in the vehicle, the person may be wanted for something to do with another crime in which case you would arrest them as well. They may have information that you need in which case you RP that information and add it to the MDC system. You then add your regular stop information to the system, the reason you stopped them, if you cited them etc.

Hope this clears things up for you.

It helps quite a lot, actually, still a bit complicated ( for my slow-learning brain), but definitely something I'm going to get into! I just signed up for it in fact, lol. Thank you both, gentlemen for helping me out and getting me pointed in the right direction!

To be honest, Ignore the whole call out/dispatch thing and simply use the tools/work basket, however, I haven't used it in a while, I might start using it again though, kinda fun when you do DUI Detail and you can use the Breathalyzer :D

Help us, help you!

Breathalyzer?! OMG!

That sounds perfect too because honestly, I'm experiencing the whole muggings/domestics/suicides callouts bug in LCPDFR...I never seem to get anything else. This sounds really neat! I can't wait until they approve my account. Now if I could just figure out how to install darker uniforms for my police characters, I'll be in hog heaven! I downloaded a uniform pack, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to install it. It seems very complicated...
