Featured Replies

Okay sorry the long ass title let me get started.

Last night i was on windows 10 and i wanted to to a flesh format back to windows 7 so i did, then 1hour later when installing all of the drivers programs games etc, i started to get this issue. (Another program is currently using this file) so whenever i install any program and open it will close randomly itself and whenever i try to reopen the program main exe file it says this (Another program is currently using this file). i have found out that some program i can't close is called (sysmon.exe)

i did a google search and didn't find anything about my issue. about this program (sysmon.exe)

If anyone had this issue before and got it fixed please don't be sacred to make a comment.

Thank you.

Solved by going on to windows 10.

sysmon.exe is a known virus. Multiple online sources show that it is a keylogger/backdoor into windows.

I suggest formatting and installing windows again if you haven't installed too much and check the source of any future downloads thoroughly. Also ensure you're using a genuine windows 7 installation as it may already be compromised if it's from a torrent or whatever.

can you show me some information on this? because i just only installed windows last night with a genuine copy.

Actually. Hold that thought.

Try this in the command line (run it as admin):

Sysmon.exe -u

As i had that issue i upgraded to windows 10 as that was the only way to fix the issue, i didn't do the command prompt because that was risky.

Absolutely nothing risky about using the command prompt provided you don't go typing in random shit.

The command I gave you removes the sysmon.exe program if it's a genuine product, if that command didn't work then it was most likely a virus.

Never understood why folk are so scared of the command line.

When did i say i was sacred?

Reason why i didn't type it because you didn't give detail (example) on what it dose but now you only just told me which was to late because am back on windows 10 again whatever you reading on the net is aload of crap.

it was a virus that came from my format and didn't get deleted & for some reason it was messing up with some programs still am unsure on what it was might have been a keylogger no idea.

Anyways thanks for the help at least your the only person helping me out

So.... what I'm reading is a load of crap, yet in the same post you stated you had no idea yourself.

You came here asking for help then argue when someone tries to help, telling them that their suggestions are a load of crap, and you wonder why I was the only person who tried to help?!

When did i even argue just saying some shit on the net can be a ton of crap which you shouldn't believe.

Before i upgraded to windows 10 i did try the commandline you gave me but didn't work for some reason.
