Merseyside Police Constable 6554 David Phillips was laid to rest today in Liverpool ( UK )

David Phillips was deliberately run down by a stolen Mitsubishi pick up whilst deploying a stinger ( stopstick ) to stop a high speed pursuit.

The 18 year old driver mounted the kurb at speed and struck PC Phillps.

David died in hospital the same day due to his  injuries.

Rest in Peace. It does make you appreciate the work Police Officers do, even if it's not as common as other countries, it shows you that British Police Officers still risk their lives on a daily basis so that we may live in peace. I seen on the news, that the person who was driving is going to be appearing in Court in the New Year, let's hope he gets what he deserves.

I read on the metro that the guy claimed he never meant to hit PC Phillips... If that was the case he wouldn't have mounted the median and struck him.
