I was just watching this video, and it shows these Crown Victorias (in pretty good condition) at the dump. The Cash For Clunkers Program does not care about the quality of cars they're wasting.

Well, I just wanted to share that with some of you Crown Victoria lovers. Good classic cars going to waste. :sad:

What a waste... Of good cars ill miss the Vic's let always remember them....

I own a black 2011 Crown Victoria. She was a former police interceptor and I can't imagine myself doing this to her. D;

@SWAT Officer Boxer pretty sure i'm gonna cry when i no longer see them on the road, however, a 2012 Dodge Charger Supercharged V8 HEMI i could live with :D i don't really like the older model charger's, but then again, Charger's should have NEVER been put on the road as a family car :dry:

I think the Taurus is too small. Ford owned the police market, and by stoping the Crown Vic, and making the Taurus, they are just throwing away money. Do they really think Police will want to buy these under sized, under powered, ugly cars? I mean, why would they do that? They would of been better off giving the Vic a redesign and puting in the Mercury Maruader or Mustnag engine.

For now, until ford brings back the Vic, Dodge and Chevy will share the Police market, with Ford being a small fraction of most fleets.

@wmai20 You have a 2011 CVPI? How come the Department sold it so early? Not even a year of service?

I know it's been a few days, but I just read that the NYC taxis are replacing the crown vic with new, uglier vans. It's like the crown vic is being thrown aside for crappy ford and foreign cars like it's nothing!

There getting thrown to the side for greed, the cash for clunkers hit the car guy market too, I heard lots of mustangs, camaros, firebirds, Monte Carlos, Regals (with the turbo 6 motors!!!), ect ect. People traded there possible good cars for money for a new car so they could save on gas, but alot found out that the car payments and insurance more than made up for the gas money saved and they were better off with their older cars.

I have a 03 CVPI and its a shame to see these cars go, there are companies out there completely restoring them for smaller police departments because its cheaper to restore them than buy new cars, but the writing is on the wall, they will end up like the fabled Caprice of the 90s but thats part of life though, the CVPI had one of the best runs of any single police car and its something ford could be proud of.

+1 psycodiver, so true, i still want to buy one, i heard they are dirt cheap, the only issue out here with them, is kid's that shouldn't have licenses... breaking into cop car's... stealing the dashlight's and putting them in their crown vic pulling people over, 4 people got arrested last week around my age for for using police light's in a crown vic and stopping people and blaring a siren from an ipod, kinda ruin's it for everyone. that could be why they are doing it.

Damn, that sucks...
