SlimDX.dll - Corrupt VC++ 2010?

Featured Replies

Hello!

Thanks for looking into my issue, as I've been having a rough time with finding the source of this problem.

My issue:

I receive the following error when trying to run LSPDFR: http://pastebin.com/88BX4K4N

My attempts / Information:

  • I tried to uninstall GTA V and re-install the game.

  • I unblocked all files (.dll's) manually.

  • I disabled my AV and Firewall while installing (and running) all programs including: LSPDFR, RagePluginHook, C++ Redis., etc.

  • I tried to re-install all VC++ redistributables, including 2010 which I was told is corrupt (currently is only 927kb)
    Proof: http://puu.sh/kMUNt/f9b945697a.png
  • I uninstalled all C++ Redistributables and re-installed them in safe-mode. Nothing changed.

  • Game Directory:
    Pic 1: http://puu.sh/kGpRb/df5039933a.png
    Pic 2: http://puu.sh/kGpS6/d81f82ce91.png

  • I purchased GTA V from the Steam Marketplace and am running Windows 10 Home (64-bit) with a nVidia GTX 750M card.

  • The game typically runs fine, but whenever I try to run w/ LSPDFR, the game crashes.

I am wondering why my C++ 2010 Redistributable is only 927kb. Is there a way I can fix this on Windows 10?
I really don't want to speak to Microsoft Support... Haha.

If any additional info is required, please let me know.

Regards,

Steve

I would also like to note that this issue is not similar to the one in the "FAQ." I have searched this forum and RagePluginHook's forum and haven't found a solution. This is purely a redistributable issue that I need help with.

I am using LSPDFR 0.2B, RagePluginHook v. 0.27.759.5247 and GTA V version 1.0.463.1

I think you need C++ 2015, have you tried that?

Also have you tried just adding another copy of SlimDX.dll doesn't that file come with LSPDFR or RPH?

Edit: Also try using RPH v0.26. It seems a few people running win10 are having problems with v0.27

Yes, I have C++ 2015 installed (both x86 and x64).

I will make sure that I try RPH v0.26, thank you for the tip!

Same error on v0.26:

===== .NET exception information =====

VC++ 2010 x64 is only 927kb, while it should be 20+mb. Not sure why this is happening.

Any developers know how to fix this? Every time I install the VC++ 2010 redis. It only partially installs/is corrupted.

As i can see that you have VC 2015 for checking that you have fully requirements you can use RAGE Plugin Hook

Did you unblock LSPD First Response.dll file

Please Report us by results as soon as possible

I don't know what you mean by NET Framework 2015, could you link it?

When I go to download (for example .NET Framework 4.5.2 or 4.5) it says ".NET Framework 4.5.2 or a later update is already installed on this computer."

EDIT: I now have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 Targetting Pack installed - same error.

Chatting with Microsoft Support right now. What a painful experience this is..

Just got done an hour of chatting with Microsoft Support. They're absolutely clueless and wouldn't answer a question I asked. Ultimately, in the end, they told me to "restart" and "contact them again if I have any issues." What a joke..

He can't link .NET Framework 2015, because it doesn't exist.

Try this direct download link to VC++ 2010 x64 if that's really your problem: https://download.microsoft.com/download/3/2/2/3224B87F-CFA0-4E70-BDA3-3DE650EFEBA5/vcredist_x64.exe

Not meaning to patronise you here but what file type is it? Just wondering if you're downloading a launcher that'll then download the rest of it?

The file type of the VC++ 2010 that I am trying to install? It's the regular .exe installer.

What happens when you run it? Sorry if you've already went through this.

Should be about 5.5 megs. Here, I'll dropbox it for you: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/66291495/vcredist_2010_x64.exe

Oh I see what you're saying, the display under installed programs. Should be 13.8mb for x64 and 15.0mb for x86 respectively. If your redist isn't being fully installed... you may want to try removing every single one of them and reinstalling.

It runs a complete installation (or asks me if I'd like to remove/repair the installation) and does so successfully.

It doesn't show any errors, but a friend said that in his "Programs and Features" list, his installation for VC++ 2010 shows a bigger file size.

Thank you, the file size for the program/installer isn't an issue, though - it's the file size of the installation (listed in "Programs and Features")

I run Windows 7 x64 and my version under Programs is 10.0.40219... so it seems like you might need to remove what is there if it'll let you, then reinstall them.

My x86 2010 Redistributable is 10.0.40219 but my x64 shows up as 10.0.30319.. Strange.

What windows is it?

I'm on 8.1 and both my x64 and x86 have the exact same version.

Seems that your x64 is the issue.
