[Suggestion] Hawaii Five-0 Style Detective Scripts

Featured Replies

So, I am a huge fan of Hawaii Five-0, and it is probably the main reason why I play police "simulations" a lot during my spare time.

Anyway, over the years I have played ArmA 2 (Specifically the island life mod) and did play GTA IV, but got sick of the constant crashing with LCPDFR. So, as soon as GTA V and LSPDFR were released for PC it seemed natural to buy them. At this time (due to windows 10 update, not sure how to fix it but working on it) I can't play the game, but that doesn't stop me thinking about an idea, related to Hawaii Five-0.

For those who don't know, the general gist is that the crew get a call out for a homicide or some specialist crime, and then by following leads and tracking down associates they take down the criminals. I think it would be pretty cool if there was some kind of sub-division for LSPDFR, or maybe a whole new plugin script, that would allow you to roleplay something in a similar way. You would patrol like a normal cop, but every now and then you would get a call out for a homicide that needs investigating or a body that has been found. From here, you would go study the body, and get various clues that the script would then direct you to another place, and so the trail would begin until you finally take down the person that did it, at which point the script would end. I'll try put it in a better way by putting in an example:

You're patrolling Los Santos, and you get a call for a body found dumped in an alleyway somewhere in vinewood. You study the body (some kind of script) and this then reveals to you that he has 3 GSWs. He also has a credit card. First, you track where he has been through that day by finding where he used the credit card (maybe through a computer in the car that gives you locations). Through security cameras, you find a person of interest, and you go and pick him up to question him. Maybe he runs away, you get in a bit of a chase, but you want to take him alive. Anyway, once you catch him, you take him to a department building or something and question him. He says something along the lines of "It wasn't me, I was just stalking the victim. But I did see a suspicious car". From there you get a number plate, but find the car is stolen, so you reach a dead end. So, you go back to the gun shot wounds. You follow it up and go to an ammunation, where the guy gives you a picture that you run facial recognition on and find your guy. You then go take him down, shoot him or arrest him and bobs your uncle case solved.

Sounds very confusing, and I am in no way a GTA veteran, but I have been desperate to see something along these lines with detectives, and think it would be cool to solve cases. If it is possible, it would require a lot of work due to the tens of different scenarios that would have to be coded to make it interesting, but I think it would be worth it.

Opinions and criticism welcome!

Sounds like something I'm currently working on, except it's inspired by LA Noire.
