What to buy??

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if you could help me out here as im new to PC Gaming. I would love to play LSPDFR rather than watch you all play it on youtube. Where do I start in buying a PC? I live in the UK and I ideally wouldn't want to pay shipping fee's from America as they would cost a lot.

Any responses are appreciated

My budget would be 400 - 500 Pounds.

Thanks in advance.

You can use this site for parts - http://www.newegg.com/global/uk/ Also, if you're usnsure to compatiblity you can always use https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/ that will bring up the price of the PC and if everything is compatible.

You can also have a look through the forum at other peoples builds and see if it's something that'll suit you (in the computers, technology and gaming forum that is). those sites would be your best bet, if you've found the parts you want, then link to it all here and we'll help you out on whether it's good, not good etc.

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

Thank you for your reply,

I've been messing around with some parts but everything is so out of budget.. this is what I have so far..

I only want a PC to play this game i don't intend on playing anything else on this PC, would you be able to help me bring down the price but still run LSPDFR Smoothly?

There are a couple things on that page i could change, so i'll have a mess around with it. Do you plan on overclocking your CPU at all?

I noticed you didn't have a monitor on there. Is that something you already have or are you wanting to buy a new one?

Yeah, that is possible. If your card has a HDMI port (which it does) it will connect to your TV.

Are you sure that you want a 4790K? You could easily get a i5 4690K for £100 less, without much of a performance loss.

You could get Windows 7 OEM for around £5-£15 cheaper than windows 8 and then free upgrade to windows 10?

or if you're feeling naughty get a cracked copy of windows 7 and then legitimately upgrade to 10.

I would go with something like this, except you may want to get a cheaper i5 and a better GPU. Even something like the R9 380 or GTX 960 would be far better than the 750 ti.

For example, this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/c9jMWZ

Although he'll have to change some other things since some parts may not be compatible with others (check the notes below the build)

Well, H81 boards are still compatible, and any board should be updated prior to anything else. USB 3.0 ports are not necessary to be connected, and he could either get an adapter or another cheap board. There are no major problems, so it would still work if he wanted it at that price.

There are still plenty of hard drive bays, too.
