Installing 2008 CVPI to Sheriff

Featured Replies

Hello,

I downloaded dbock's 2008 CVPI, and it comes under crown.ytd, crown_hi.yft, and crown.yft. I want to set this at the Sheriff stanier. I changed the file names to sheriff.ytd, sheriff_hi.yft and sheriff.yft, but when I import the files using OpenIV, it does not change the model. What am I doing wrong?

Where did you replace the sheriff files?

I put them in /mods/x64e.rpf/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf

There is no update folder in my mods folder

The weird thing is, when I click the .ytd or .yft, whichever shows the model, it shows the mod is there, but when I go in game, it's still the Stanier.

Go into the update, even if it is not in the mods folder. I bet that somehow a sheriff file got in there and is messing up the spawning.

You have to make the update folder then...GTA V loads the sheriff cars from /update/x64/dlcpacks/patchday3ng/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gat5/vehicles.rpf, therefore you need that exact directory in the mods folder in order to replace it. Also, moving to GTA V Modding Discussion & Information.

That did the trick. I assume textures go in the same place? Thanks

Correct.

I'm trying to put the texture in there now, but it isn't working. I go to the same place, and I go to sheriff.ytd and I import the texture in and then click save, but it doesn't show up in game. Am I doing something wrong?
