Issues with replacing sheriff Stanier with Interceptor

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently replaced the sheriff Stanier in my GTA V with the templated Interceptor. I tried two different liveries (Mercuri's Clackamas County style and StateTrooper412's San Bernardino County livery), however I had the same emergency lighting issues with both - the LEDs on the push bumper were 3 blue and 1 red and looked more like rotary lights than LEDs; the lights on the mirrors could not be seen from the front where they should be seen but from the back only; one taillight had a strobe effect whereas the other side didn't; and finally not all segments of the lightbar actually worked. Furthermore, the car was rear wheel drive (like the Stanier and unlike the Interceptor should be) and also it had the engine noise of a Stanier, not an Interceptor. This sounds kinda stupid I know, but it almost feels like the Stanier is trying to break through, I'm not really sure.

I really hope someone who knows a lot more than myself can help, it would be much appreciated! Thank you.

As far as I know, replacing the model isn't enough. You'll need to configure more settings in the .meta files to tell the game what kind of vehicle it is you're loading. A model is just a model.

I'm afraid I can't help more than that.

Would that be too complicated? There must be someone who knows how to do it. Also what will happen with real vehicle models i.e. a Ford Explorer?

The same. As long as you don't edit anything but the model, the game will still think it's a Stanier.

Yes - As I said, you need to edit the meta files.

Okay, thank you for your help. Is it worth requesting for some to be made or will modders make them soon enough? Also what causes the lighting issues?
