GTA IV - Detecting Wrong Directory

Featured Replies

Hello Forums!

Well a year or so ago I downloaded an illegal copy of GTA IV, since then I have deleted that copy and bought a legitimate copy off steam. I decided to check out the mod but when I install it detects the old none existent directory for the old copy and not the steam copy. https://gyazo.com/cd2f9825d3204e51963c8d745e024098

I then fix it with the proper directory https://gyazo.com/2c4710f6378b311bc0fa9c32972ed0b6 and click install. Once done it asks me if I want to run the configuration and then tells me this https://gyazo.com/78be18334cabc2ae4389f13775833251. So it still think that I'm using the old none existent copy. I click yes and then this shows https://gyazo.com/3dada26eadf3bf5683494530b26981ac. It shows a directory on top but that directory does not exist https://gyazo.com/f5069e1df9d72e7a1729f2b3257d1304. I continue on by clicking apply, I start the game and press ctrl+p and nothing happens. So of course I try the diagnostics tool and this happens again https://gyazo.com/19237df62626c42384b582ad348bd55b. So nothing is working... my directory is just as it should be: https://gyazo.com/9b8c2a656299b201e5e366a2b621870a. Is there anyone out there who had a similar problem or know how to fix it. I also attached my DxDiag in case that would help :D

It's just the diagnostics tool that won't work then. If you can't get it to recognize the folder properly, you can still manually edit the .ini file in the correct GTA IV directory.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.
