Hey guys.  Its a growing demand so I decided to make a rather short (well, as short as I could keep it.) video about installing RageHook, LSPDFR, Plugins, and Callouts, with general usage.

Before you watch the video, it might be important to understand whats going on.

RageHook - it runs everything.  It loads LSPDFR , and Plugins.

LSPDFR - A plugin for RageHook, that lets you become a cop.

Plugins - A broad term that often refers to a mod that goes into the GTA V\Plugins folder that RageHook can either load automatically, or be loaded manually (covered in the video)

Callouts - A broad term that often refers to a set of Police Calls (addons to LSPDFR) that for the most part are located in the GTA V\Plugins\LSPDFR folder, and managed by LSPDFR.

Either way - its important to understand the difference, and ALWAYS remember to read the ReadMe file that comes with ANY mod you download.  Failing to do so and you could miss a rather small step, and it just won't work.  The name of the game is Attention To Detail.

Keep several things in mind when using these mods if you have trouble.

Is it RageHook that's having issues?

Is it LSPDFR that's having issues?

  • This might sound dumb... did you recently restart your PC?  It seems random crashes lately, can be induced by slow moving code (not LSPDFR, but the hardware running it.)
  • Did you attempt to go over to the support forum and locate someone already posting about a similar problem?  Did they come to a resolve?  Did that resolve work for you?  If it did, reply and let others know it worked, at the least!
  • If you did try to restart, and can't figure out the problem and lastly DON'T FIND A TOPIC ALREADY ABOUT IT... Follow the guidelines on LSPDFR.com forums to post a support request.  The more detailed your request is, the higher chance you stand of someone helping you solve it.  If its solved, don't be that guy.  Post replies, and perhaps your ground work will lay the foundation for solving a problem for others.  This type of healthy forum mentality will make the community a information rich, and high problem solving environment.

Is it a Plugins/Callouts that's crashing?

  • Did you read the readme and make sure you are running the correct LSPDFR, GTA V, and RageHook versions that the mod requests?  If not - GO DO THAT NOW, OR DON'T USE IT.
  • If everything is up to date, the best thing to do is describe to the creator of the mod, in what ever method the dictates best, what lead up to the crash.
  • Include a COMPLETE RageHook.log file (in the main directory) - make sure its in a readable format...
  • Is it repeatable - can you break the mod at will?
  • What OS are you using?
  • Does RageHook console display correctly when you press F4?

Hope this helps at least one person.  The thing that we often forget (the guys that have been modding the game for awhile), is that what seems low level, can be really difficult for some to grasp.  Lets close that gap.

First!

I know it's not a plugin for my bug, because I uninstalled everything. I've even uninstalled and re-installed GTA V. I've tried solutions others have gotten for my Crash-on-Shift bug. I've gotten absolutely no progress so far. I've made my own forum and have tried to get support. I'm still awaiting more replies. I will include my log in this post to show you what's going on. People are saying to wait for LSPDFR 0.2c, but that could be a while. I don't want to wait that long. I hope someone can help me..
