Alt-tabbing causes crash

Featured Replies

So, here's the deal. I can run the game fine, I can go on duty and everything. But, if I alt-tab, I get the error message you commonly get when you don't run the game as administrator. Suggestions?

Pause your game before alt-tabing. Will cause the game to stay stable when minimized.

I had the same issue, if i need to alt-tab I always pause screen 1st and it has worked 98% of the time. I dont think its an LCPDFR or GTA issue I have had the same probs with other applications. I think its a render problem with video having to reload,im using ATI HD 6870 card btw it may be an ATI issue not sure are you using ATI or Gforce? Could be a video problem....

Ok, thank you for the reply, well then the issue is not card specific. Not sure then -the quest continues...

MODERATOR NOTICE

As stated above, This issue is not caused by LCPDFR, Its a generic GTA IV problem that we cannot fix, Simply pause your game, Then alt + Tab and you will see almost no crashing, other than that we cannot really continue to help you since the issue is out of our hands, Due to this, I'll be closing this thread for now.

PS: If you really wish to figure out a way to fix this (as stated above, Just simply pause the game) without having to pause, PM me, And I'll re-open this thread and move to a more appropriate section for you so the discussion about this issue can go on.
