Route66 Mod not allowing me to spawn additional cars

Featured Replies

I installed the Route66 map mod, and I am not able to spawn my police3 or police4 cars. Does anyone have any suggestions that don't involve deleting the mod? Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Artificial

Could be a memory issue. The Route 66 map is really heavy. Don't think there's a work around besides maybe using lower poly cars, if you are using modded cars.

Sorry for the late reply, when I try to spawn my additional cars, police3 and the like, I get an invalid model error when using my trainer.

Yeah most of the time this either means that the car model is corrupted (or bugged because of a bad insertion from OpenIV/Spark), or that the allocated memory is overloaded. Do you experiment texture loss at some point? It's a classic symptom of memory overload in GTA IV.

The cars worked before I installed the mod, and very little texture loss. My computer can handle it, i just get the "invalid model" error when trying to spawn my cars

Try to reinstall the cars, or to change the models for some others that would have a lower polygon count. If this still doesn't work, it means it's most likely a memory problem. To go in the details a little, it doesn't really depend on your computer. GTA IV was poorly optimized for PC, and considering it's a game that is getting a bit old on top of that, it cannot make the best use of multicore CPUs and large RAM. So you can perfectly have texture loss or crashes, even with the most badass of the computers.

i was going to ask since you said it happens when you use the trainer..can you spawn cars using the interface when you press ~ key?

Wait up man, I have the exact solution, except I am not on my PC right now lol... In your commandline though try -availablevidmem 12.0. And make sure your newveh.ide is EXACTLY like the one in a tutorial, I forgot to add some stuff on my first go.
