As everyone knows the world of Grand Theft Auto V is based on Los Angeles and parts of California. But I was thinking that it could also work out as an Alaskan setting. Sure, the beaches, deserts and palm trees don't seem right, but you could fit it in someway or another. Los Santos could work out to be a larger city such as Anchorage, the highways that run along both sides of the map could work out to be the Seward Highway, and the areas such as Paleto Bay, Paleto Forest, Mount Chiliad, and others would fit in well as wildlife areas. You also have rivers, and oceans which would also work very well for an Alaskan setting. And, you could change the weather to represent winter or summer which would also make sense. Plus some of the people in the community are learning how to create textures and sirens which could eventually be created for an Alaskan setting. This is just my two cents, but I was wondering what other people think and their opinions about whether this could work out or not.

I chose the third option. I think if someone put in enough effort to try and make it as such, it would definitely be do-able. However, it would use up a lot of time and effort.

That makes sense because the palm trees would have to be changed and the Sandy Shores area would have to be changed from sand to another material. As well as other things. You could also pretend that things belong in the area because there are a type of palm tree in Alaska as well as beaches.

Never. The whole vegetation and terrain transmits the feeling of a mediterranean climate, as it is in California. Maybe the nothern areas around Paleto Bay and Mount Chilliad could work, but as for the rest of the map, that is definitely not the case.

That's true. Your comment reminded me that Anchorage doesn't have skyscrapers as Los Angeles does. But, the mountains that you can see in the background from the city is similar to that of Anchorage.
