Initial thoughts and impressions (0.1 Beta) + Video

Featured Replies

Just some of my thoughts on the freshly released LSPDFR Modification in bullet points for your enjoyment. I am also taking in to account this is a beta and my thoughts and impressions  are based on that understanding.

  • Love, Love, Love the Backup/Pursuit AI and Menu. If there was a donation box I would be dropping money in there like no other for the work that must have been done in trying to fix and achieve such a beautiful system.
  • Love the police vehicle selection menu although the filter that is used in the menu has a depth of field that tends to blur out the vehicle I am selecting. Might just have been something related to the development team not having depth of field on while working on the garage. (Refer to video in below @1:25)
  • All the callouts are pursuits (Again this is a beta I know this) I am just hoping for some variety in the near future and making a statement.
  • When selecting a characters HEAD if you left click while on that option it will go through various hairstyles and facial hair. Not sure if this is a glitch or intended either way it works. JUST AN FYI TO DEVS.
  • No TASER why?
  • Would like to see the State police Backup respond more in the white unmarked units than the motorcycles for pursuit purposes. (Motorcycles tend to become primary and cannot ram suspects whilst blocking police vehicles that can)
  • Code 2 backup seems to take just a tad bit too long. I understand it's code 2 cmon. (Really just an opinion)
  • I'm sure the Development team are working on creating a system that incorporates the ability to run people through the police computer/ Call in IDs during traffic stops.
  • Would like a Frisking option or some sort or form of being able to communicate/interact with pedestrians. (Even a simple 'keep it moving' thing)
  • Sprinting causes you to eventually kill yourself from exhaustion thus losing a perp. Either make player run faster or remove stamina limit.
  • After a traffic stop suspects tend to back up a couple of feet before driving off. Hoping its an easy fix.
  • GTA V still loads in random police pursuits which aren't really that much of an issue if you could actively participate in them as though they were initiated in LSPDFR themselves. I.E Backup could still assist and target suspect vehicle. (NOT REALLY AN ISSUE JUST AN IDEA)
  • Would love to be able to grab on an guide detained suspects. (Do love the fact that the player will open back door for collars though!)
  • Would love to see a GPS that directs you to callouts.
  • GAME IS TOO FUCKING STABLE

It should go without saying how thankful I am for such a dedicated Development team. I honestly wish I could shake the staffs hands!

Finally a video from me to you which goes through some of my impressions listed above at 108060fps. ENJOY!

EDIT: Minor grammatical errors and some additions to list.

I agree with this. I hope to see features that existed with LCPDFR and more, def need a lot more ped and callout options. But for an initial release it's pretty neato. A lot more of a detailed list than mine. I think there should also be more options pre-game launch (No random pursuits/Ambient events. Disable callouts temporarily, etc.)

Definitely "sets the framework".

Just wanted to confirm ... The 360 controller is supported (although i've not worked all the bindings yet, still use keyboard for some options)

Great vid btw

I've only played for a short while but the pursuits are AWESOME! Very tactical, and sometimes slow paced.

It would be handy for the GPS to direct you to the marker as in GTA IV, I often get lost trying to navigate, or is this in there and I'm missing something?

Thank you. Yeah so glad they keys are bound to controls.

This is something I forgot to mention! It's such a small mechanic but has such a huge impact in arriving to a callout! Should be a simple fix I believe.
