No Police Radio Sounds

The files in the Police Scanner folder are there and do play when I double click them (They are all .wav files) , When I would reinstall LCPDFR I would redownload the setup from the website but no matter what I did it would not work. This makes me think it could be a problem with my hard drive.

idk if it could be the hard drive. i would think that even GTA IV sounds wouldnt work if it was the hard drive. i could be wrong but i wouldnt even know where to start with that :P

right click on PoliceScanner and make sure the Read Only box is marked. i'm stumped. i have read article after article. the only other thing i can think of is restoring your system back to when it worked before you started the re installing process. something has happened between then and now.

also in the GTA IV game main menu once you start the game go to the menu where it has the Sounds and make sure its marked Stereo. i found one article where someone had it on 5.1 and when he changed it back to Stereo it worked. who knows if it will work for you but its all i got left hahah.

Well I tried everything but doing a system restore, I am going restore my system to as far as I can and if it still does not work we will figure something else out. I will keep you updated buddy!

Well I did a system restore and it said it failed. I started GTA IV and my LCPDFR restored an old session and everytime it does I get a call out about shots fired. But of course it crashes. I honestly have no idea what to do next other than format my computer. But I think that is a step too far.

delete that oldsession.fr and any savegame.fr you have. either of them could be corrupt. then when ya launch ur game you will have to do the first mission. also do not save at any time while the lcpdfr mod is working because of the auto save. so start  GTA IV after you delete both of those files. then do the first mission then go to the safehouse and save. after you do that then launch LCPDFR.

no problem. what i would do is first when you install GTA IV do the first mission as i was talking about. then create a save at your safehouse. That should be the only Save you would ever need. then activate the police mod for the first time and go on duty.i am hoping that you get a good clean save.

also you can contact Rockstar directly to see if they have any explanation of what might have happened. but keep me updated

I will keep you updated on any new info I get. But this is not a GTA IV error, what will contacting Rockstar  do? I doubt they will know anything about LCPD:FR

not sure but some GTA players may have had the same problem and posted over there. it might be a long shot but its entirely possible. this just doesnt make any sense. and the shitty thing is that noone has ever ever found a solution for it or even tried to that i can see. its definitely something that needs looked into more.

What if I updated my audio driver? I was looking in another post with the same issue and someone said that my current audio driver could not be reading the code correctly.

also on another note i do have a Realtek audio driver, so maybe if i update or change it may fix this issue. Or i could change the format of the audio files to something more runable.

i have 8 gb

Then your asking your GPU to take most of your RAM. Onboard GPUs have no VRAM. They use RAM. Try taking it lower than 9. Maybe LCPDFR sounds have lower priority than IV and there's not enough RAM to go around.
