No Police Radio Sounds

Featured Replies

I have a annoying issue, after some bad glitches with LCPDFR 1.1 and GTA IV (STEAM) I finally decided to completely reinstall GTA IV and LCPDFR 1.1 with no mods other than a couple of scripts. I soon came to realize that every time I run LCPDFR that the dispatch don't say anything even when I call for back up and the only I can get any sounds is by alt-tabbing and that can cause a crash. I looked in the auido file of LCPDFR and all the sounds files are there. I honestly don't know what else to do, I have done everything from reinstalling the game to changing it's compatibility. If anyone could provide a fix for this I would really appreciate it

Just a quick question for you, Are you running GTAIV on Compatibility Mode? If so, which operating system are you running? Because i was searching through the forums and found a possible solution for

There is two reason for this

  1. Your LCPD:FR Modification has a problem with its coding (No coding calling for the file)
  2.  Your Audio Files from LCPDFR aren't there inside your LCPDFR folder.

Try downloading another copy of LCPDFR and please post your LCPDFR.log file so we can have a look at it and see if we can find any problems.

Also - Open your LCPD:FR config.exe (I forgot what its called but its located in the LCPDFR Folder in the main Directory) and see if there is an option to enable/disable sounds. If its not that it could possibly be your 'All Text Mode' That is another option too!

Good Luck and if it works Thumb ups just so i know it works

okay i was checking out some other posts and i honestly can't find a solution. even the support team wasnt able to explain what was happening. can you play the files manually by clicking on each sound in the LCPDFR>audio>police scanner? also like Sheepish said earlier go to LCPDFR folder then go into the LCPDFR notepad that is right under LCPDFR Error Reporter. Open that notepad and make sure at the top it says this "AllTextMode=False"

try to click on each one of the sounds and see if it works there. if it works there then maybe i can look up something else. but as of right now i've read people re installing and nothing happening even after that.

I looked in the LCPDFR.ini and it was set to false. I reinstalled GTA IV and LCPDFR again today... and still no dice. The reason this started is because I was trying to solve a crashing issue (which was just my car mod) but before I knew that I would add and remove commandlines, I reinstalled LCPDFR as a administrator do you think that maybe I messed something up?

Also I notice that when I run GTA IV with LCPDFR it skips the intro (where it shows the Rockstar logos) and heads straight to the main menu.

I just hope something I do fixes it.

hmm that doesnt sound right. i wouldnt ever recommend messing with command lines. i never have but i can only imagine what kind of horror it causes. the only thing at this point i would recommend is starting over. as bad as it sounds something was missed or deleted somewhere. like say i cant find one solved issue on this. if you do decide to re install GTA IV please make an extra back up copy. install only LCPDFR after your make sure GTA IV runs right. then before you add any other script or mod make sure that LCPDFR works perfectly. its the only way we can start pinpointing problems.

make sure when you uninstall GTA IV and LCPDFR that you do it completely. delete any folders left over and maybe even run CC Cleaner to remove any registery files left behind. then start installing again. i wish i had another answer but i just dont :( i've been looking for about an hour now and there is just nothing more i can do for this problem. let me know if you decide to re install and i'll come back to help :) good luck man!!

( i am assuming to that since it skips intro that some files possibly are missing from there too. i've never ever had that happen)

Well I removed all my commandlines, mods and scripts other than "-availablevidmem 9.0" because without it my will have a infinite loading screen. anyway I Uninstalled GTA IV and LCPDFR and deleted any leftover folders i could find, than ran Piriform CC Cleaner and currently reinstalling GTA IV. I will let you know when I get done and tell you the results. Wish me luck!

Well here is what happened, after I finished reinstalling GTA IV  and when I ran it and the intro (Rockstar logos) and everything worked fine, I did the first mission when you have to drive Roman to the safe house and I saved. I installed LCPDFR and sadly when I started the game it skipped the intro and went to main menu. I started LCPDFR and became a police officer and sat inside the police car and sadly there was no radio audio. I drove around hoping to get a call out when something odd happened. It said in the top left corner that "LCPDFR as encounted an error and etc" when this happened my entire game froze so badly I had to press my windows key and sign out to close GTA IV. dam. okay i was looking there and it looked like it crashed right after a getting a callout. it says invalid call to an object that doesnt exist anymore. maybe try this. install a callout mod like Bohan just temporarily. then set yourself as busy so you dont get any lcpdfr callouts. so technically you will only be responding to Bohan callouts. If you don't crash on these callouts we know it could be something to do with the lcpdfr callouts themselves.

i'm grasping at straws here :P so i'm not sure what to expect. at least its a simple thing to try and we can remove bohan easily if we still get crashes. as far as the sound goes..i gotta say im stumped :(

Here is what happened, I installed a call out mod and changed the max call out time to 5 secs in the LCPDFR config, I ran GTA IV and became an officer. I set myself to busy but nothing really happened . I decided to take a risk and unset it and I started getting call outs like crazy from the mod I installed. From what  I could see I did not see a single LCPDFR call out only the mods call out (this picture show below was taken 5 secs after I turned off myself as busy.

okay so now the calloutsplus mod you are using do you get the audio on those callouts? or still nothing?

also make sure in that LCPDFR notepad it says Enabled=True under Callouts.

Are you still crashing or is everything playing well despite not getting LCPDFR callouts?

It does say "Enabled=True. I am still not getting any audio for call outs. But on a plus note I did not crash at all while I was testing the mod.

yeah see that leads me to believe that its something with the lcpdfr mod. either something wasn't downloaded or something. because we know normal GTA IV sounds do work. and since Calloutsplus works with LCPDFR it has to be that.

when you go into your Police Scanner folder are there files in there? if you click on each sound does it play out of game? if we ever fix this it will be the first time that a sound file error has been fixed lol.

The files in the Police Scanner folder are there and do play when I double click them (They are all .wav files) , When I would reinstall LCPDFR I would redownload the setup from the website but no matter what I did it would not work. This makes me think it could be a problem with my hard drive.
