What car should I get?

Featured Replies

I can try to get the Caprice but I'll want the vynl and the florring gone because I just think it'll look horrible and I'll have to add a console to it so I can put drinks in there. I honestly don't want to do that so that's why I'm choosing the Pontiac G8 and searching for one. I actually found some around my area so I'm just going with that for now unless someone has a better car.

PS I might try to get a CVPI but not fully sure

Well you buy what ever you want to drive everyday. But as a mechanic for GM vehicles i would strongly advise you to Not buy a G8 cause they are junk and riddled with problems. At the shop i used to work at the G8 and G6 as well as allot of other Pontiac`s were on what was know as our frequent flyer list. Crown Vics are pretty nice. I would recommend going for one that was never a cop car though. Even if they are low mileage they are rough that`s why the state or city is selling it.

IMO the if you are looking to buy a domestic 4 door sedan your best bets are the Ford Taurus (#1 recommendation ) , Ford Fusion , Dodge Charger, Chrysler MKZ (Boring car but still a nice Daily driver, its pretty much a ford fusion with some extra chrome bits) , Or Chevy Impala. Owned a impala for the last 4 years. Great gas mileage, Never broken down or fall on it face launching from a light. And surprisingly quick (300 BHP). Fast then the old V6 Mustangs surprisingly.

But if you want the best 4D sedans you have to go to Germany for that.  BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, and Merc S class. But you are gonna pay out the ass for those. That`s why I have not bought one yet.

  • By a bike.. Just do it. You'll never regret it. It's a chick magnet, and the feeling that you get when you know you can outrun that pimple faced prick in his burnt out ricer, that he put student loans

God no, anything but that trash.

  • That's the price you pay for unreal coolness.

Holden Commodores run really well. You lot must trash them when you convert them to G8's somehow.

I like all the choices you're giving me but just remember that I do have a budget for certain cars because I obviously know that this will cost more that my PC which was $1,300. I would go with the Ford Fusion or Taurus. I also found a Caprice in Saudi Arabia and I'm a little scared of contacting them because I may get what I'm asking for but the problem is if they can ship it to the U.S.

Yeah, Windows is great… I used it to download Linux.

Not really worth importing a Commodore they sell them in the US as the Chevy SS now. I have not had the chance to drive a SS yet, they have only been on sale in the states for a little over a year now. Im really keeping my fingers crossed its built better then the G8 was.I cant think of a better replacement for my Impala then a SS. I have driven a ton of G8`S and i have also driven a proper Holden Commodore ppl say it just re-badged but they feel like 2 different cars entirely.

Literally every car you've listed is Australian. Have you thought about importing direct from Australia? They'll all be right hand drive, though.

I've never thought about it. But that's obviously because I know that they switch stuff up over there in which I'm probably not gonna import it because of that reason unless they can magically switch it over to the left

Depending on your state/federal laws, you may be able to get away with a right hand drive anyway. If not, you could always have it converted to US format (at your extra expense, though).

You can't import a right-hand vehicle in the US because of a dumb law. Not unless the vehicle is over 25 years old of age (that is why we are starting to see Nissan Skyline R32 in the US) or you are using it as a show car only with special permits. I recommend looking through wrecked new Caprices being auctioned off, could be a chance that it is still repairable. Though I heard rumors that a dealership in Washingon DC was selling brand-new civillian Caprices on their lot exclusively. Otherwise you could wait a year or two for the retired ones roll down to auction or craigslist
