GTA V Updates after "installing" new car textures

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,

I have some problem with editing my game with new car textures that I´d like to use in my game. The thing is that whenever I drag new textures to certain GTA V directory through OpenIV and start the game after editing in, before the game launches it becomes to download a big update (few gigs) and downloads the original vanilla GTA V files back, so after all I don´t have the edited textures in the game anyway .... Do you got any idea what could I do ? I use version downloaded from Social Club ... How could I go offline mode or something else ? I can´t play the game without internet connection because I record videos to YouTube and I use ShadowPlay which doesn ´t work offline.

Thanks a lot !

Copy vehicles.rpf into update.rpf/x64/levels/gta5; then make all your modifications in the copy of vehicles.rpf located in update.rpf.

How do I copy vehicles.rpf , please ? I don´t see copy button anywhere when I right click on vehicles.rpf file as you can see on the picture below ... should I use extract button or something else ? I´m sorry to bother you with these basic things, but I just don´t wanna fu*k something up :D

Save vehicles.rpf to some folder on your computer (just drag-and-drop into Windows Explorer), go to update.rpf/x64/levels/gta5 in OpenIV, and drag vehicles.rpf from Windows Explorer to OpenIV.

Damn it :/ I got an error while loading the game ... I was dragging these files (Copy vehshare.ytd, sheriff.ytd, sheriff2.ytd) into vehicles.rpf located in update/update.rpf/x64/levels/gta5 ... original location where I should put the files in according to readme was this : Go to GTA V/x64e.rpf/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf ...

then I tried to put unedited vehicles.rpf to location you told me - update/update.rpf/x64/levels/gta5 in OpenIV ... that time i didn´t experienced openIV GTA V RPF Plugin crash, but GTA V stopped working message showed up ...

Okay, what you're going to have to do is this:

Remove vehicles.rpf from update.rpf

Launch the game with the "-verify" option to redownload the x64e.rpf file. Close OpenIV when you do this.

Reopen OpenIV *after* the verify finishes; copy the freshly reset vehicles.rpf to update.rpf

Now, install the mods to update.rpf

I already removed vehicles.rpf from update.rpf , what do you exactly mean launch with verify option ?

What I did is, I removed vehicles.rpf from update.rpf, launched the game (through desktop, just clicked on the icon), but the game now crashes everytime while loading, eventhough I deleted vehicles.rpf from update.rpf ... and the also game stopped automaticaly updating (downloading the vanilla files) before it launches ...

I just wanna say you can close this topic ... I had to reinstall the whole game, something got messed up ... but it´s working again, that´s the most important fact
