Run better than IV?

Featured Replies

Can I run GTA V on my very weak system better than I can GTA IV? How many FPS on what settings?

AMD A6-3500 APU with HD 6530D

8GB 1600 RAM

1440x900 monitor

My GTA IV Benchmark results are included for reference. Thanks for your help and time!

It definitely wouldn't run better than IV, and it might not even be playable. I also have a very low-end PC by gaming standards (Intel HD 4000), and I ran GTA IV about the same as you, and just about make it to 20-25, sometimes 30, FPS in GTA V. I have everything on the lowest settings and shadows off.

Yeah I wasn't expecting it to run well, if at all. I have been planning on getting an AMD R7 250x GPU because I'm pretty sure that's as good as I can go without bottle-necking and having to buy a new CPU and motherboard. Do you think it would run well with that GPU?

What's your CPU speed? I think that GPU would work a considerable amount better than what you have, and the price is good.

My CPU is a weak 3 core 2.1GHz (2.4GHz Turbo) and I don't think that chip likes overclocking, from what I've heard.

No CPUs like overclocking if you don't have any cooler behind.

Maybe 35-45 FPS if you tried with high (medium) settings? I can't really estimate. But if you look for benchmarks done with this graphics card, it did pretty good considering the price. By turning down some settings, I'm sure you would be able to reach that 60 FPS with a still good-looking game.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Plus with my monitor being 1440x900 that will help with frames too. :)

GTA5 runs better than 4 for me. I usually get 30-40 FPS in 4 on medium settings. In GTA5, I constantly have 60 FPS on high and very high settings.
