ELS lights reflection

Featured Replies

I don't prefer using ELS.But as some specific/new models come with ELS only,I have to allow some slots to have ELS vehicles.For example,my Police Stinger has been replaced with Yakadafi's GMC Yukon NYPD.But the problem is,that ELS lights reflection are just too bright for my eyes.Notice that its ELS lights' reflection.Not the lights themselves.Is there any way to reduce these values?

Go to your ELS settings file (.ini) and scroll down to [Global Values]

Under that, go down to:

Range_LightsF = X // Range of headlight environment lights

Intens_LightsF = X // Intensity headlight environment lights

Range_LightsP = X // Range of primary environment lights

Intens_LightsP = X // Intensity of primary environment lights

After the "=" , place the value you want. The larger the number, the larger the value is for intensity/range.

Note: Changing the headlight values affects the take down lights on the vehicle. For example, the range and intensity of the spotlight.

You may also change the color of the reflections in the ELS configuraton file.

For the intensity of the primary environment lights, I would recommend values between 4 and 7. It all depends on you, but anything less/more wouldn't be as realistic. Anything above 7 or 8 can be too bright during the day/night, and anything less than 4 would be too dull. It all depends on what you want, those are just my recommendations.

Sorry if this is thread hi-jacking, but it's a question that I think could be answered here without the need for a new topic. How do I change the reflection to red and blue? I don't have a single car that's red and white, but all my reflections are red and white, instead of red and blue.

Change your config for the cars to:

Active = 1

Color_Light1L = 1

Color_Light2L = 0

Color_Light3R = 1

Color_Light4R = 0

Offst_SLights = 1

If you have ever tried opening and messing with els.ini,you'd have spotted this:

// REFERENCE

//

// Active Determines whether the ELS can be enabled on that vehicle / 0 for OFF, 1 for ON

// Offst_SLights Y axis offset of secondary environment lights relative to vehicle

//

// Red   0

// Blue  1

// White  2

// Amber  3

// Green  4

Tutorial is in the .ini itself.As for my question,there was nothing clearly descriptive for that option,so I had to ask for help.Hope that helps.

I knew about the colour of reflections and range and intesity allready because I used to in the past have reflections that carried on for blocks and were so bright it was like a strobe light show and almost sent you into a seizure :p I eventually got it down to a very localised subtle reflection through trial and error.

But one thing I could never work out was what the "headlight" stuff did, as it seemed to have no effect on headlights. Finding out it affects the spotlight makes sense and I have been looking for ways to adjust that for a long time.

In my game over time I have changed everything from ELS lights to the power of traffic lights and taxi signs. Reall glad to find out about this spotlight parameter.

Also this thread saves me explaining the same questions that were asked in a thread of mine the other day :) I think I will just put a link to this thread there hehe
