When I downloaded LCPDFR, GTA Stopped being able to load. Here is what it told me to copy and paste for help:

Run The Installer As Admin

Please ensure that your GTA IV folder is not read-only. To check this, right click on your GTA IV folder, click properties and uncheck read-only, click apply and OK.

Also, as GTArescue said, make sure you are running the installer as administrator.

I do not see anything involving read only, I checked all 5 sections.

Right click the GTA icon and select run as administrator.

Tom - That is the first thing I tried. No joy.

Go to C:Program FilesRockstar Games. There should be a folder in there called "Grand theft auto IV". Right click on that folder and click properties. On the bottom of the screen you should see "read-only" next to attributes. Uncheck the box, click apply and then OK. Then run the installer again.

Have you already installed LCPDFR, or is this error coming up during installation?

I found it. It was un-checked when I got to it.

I get it after I install every thing. It pops up right before it SHOULD end.

Make sure that you have installed everything that is mentioned in those guidelines before running the installer.

The error message you are receiving is because the installer doesn't have permission to write/create new files.

Make sure you are running the LCPDFR installer as a administrator.

Check again to ensure your folders are not read-only.

I run in admin every time. This dose not make any sense.

Please run the diagnostics log, the link is in my signature. Run that as a admin too.

When it has finished, click more information and copy and paste the text displayed there here.

It will work, he just hasn't done it correctly yet. He has been trying to turn off write protection for the installer most of this time.
