Should I go with Intel or AMD?

Featured Replies

Can some of the LCPDFR family tell me which way to go. I am buying my new gaming pc this weekend and it will cost me roughly $800 the way I want it. I just dont know to go with Intel or AMD because of course there is a price difference. I want something that will last me a while and will give me great graphics and good frame rates.

If I go with AMD what video card should I buy?

What are the top not to expensive gaming motherboards? I know ASUS is good and thats what im leaning towards but I need the model numbers of a few good ones.

Please help

The rumors say AMD goes well with AMD GPUs, and Intel goes well with nVidia GPUs. But I personally have an AMD processor with a nVidia GPU, and it runs just fine. All will depend on the performances you want. You should check the benchmarks to get an idea of what you're getting: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html

I would go with Intel, it tends to run gta iv alot better. Overall Intel is alot better technically speaking, but the prices are obviously different on AMD Cpus.

amd is cheap but i really dont know i have amd and it works great im sure intel is stronger but both would most certainly do the job. i would compare different types of processors and cards to amd and intel there might be a site for that to do so and then compare the price

I would go AMD. For the price equivalent of an AMD vs. Intel you can get a much better AMD. However, I will concede that Intel is the better tech. But really go for a really good AMD for the same price as a decent Intel. My AMD runs great and I'm very happy. PM if you have any other questions.
