Game Crashes During Loading Screen

Hey Guys,

I have been having a problem where once I run GTA 4, the game tries to load the last saved game, and then abruptly crashes during the loading screen. I have the steam version of the game and it is definitely updated. I tried uninstalling LCPDFR, and once completed the game ran fine. I then re installed LCPDFR and the crashes started happening again. I've tried running LaunchGTAIV.exe as admin, and set the GTAIV folder to non-readonly but both have failed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the logs:

Does this happen when LCPDFR tries to restore your game? If so delete the savegames from LCPDFR in your game folder (oldsession.fr and Savegame.fr).

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

Thanks, your solution fixed my problem. But I have a new issue now. After 5-10 minutes of playing, the game crashes and says GTA4 has stopped working. Any suggestions?

  • This crash is common with using the Emergency Lighting System.  If you try disabling ELS AI, GTA IV should function correctly. If this solves the problem, you can try the following to pinpoint the problem:
  1. Reduce the clear rand ELS Ai distance,
  2. Change your ASI Loader
  3. Disable cruise lights in the Vehicle configuration files
