Overwolf doesn't work in game, ENB/LCPDFR related?

Featured Replies

- Hi there, I've used Overwolf for a very long time.

- Overwolf is very useful because GTA IV is also very buggy, tabbing out is like rolling a dice, 50% crash, 50% don't crash.

Overwolf gives full access to internet and teamspeak and a bunch of other tools, fps too.

- Recently my Overwolf just simply doesn't work in the game anymore, the overlay doesn't come up anymore.

- I use overwolf in every game, such as arma 3 etc it works perfectly, just in GTA IV it doesnt work but sometimes it works like a 5% chance..

- I did a test on WITHOUT ENB on, and it worked perfectly BUT the problem is I can't play without a ENB so don't be like

"oh play without enb then" please. because i would like to fix this issue.

- I also did a test with the ENB on, and it didn't work overwolf and steam didn't work to clarify, sometimes it does, but like a 5% chance to work.

- So does anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it? That would be awesome.. Also I run on STEAM, my STEAM PLATFORM also doesn't show up anymore either. Is my GTA IV is blocking third party application or what is going on?

So all together, steam and overwolf doesn't work in GTA IV with ENB installed for me.

Thanks for any help and for understanding.

Hope to receive answers.

I'm not sure about Overwolf, but if you use it mainly because of issues with alt-tabbing, I'm assuming you're referring to the one where if you do, sometimes you can't tab back in?

If so, this is fixed by pausing the game before alt tabbing.

Yeah unfortunately that's the same concept, if you pause the game and tab out that's also a gamble to me but just increase to 75% chance of working.

I just did what you told me, paused the game (ESC) then alt-tab, waited couple of seconds and went back in.

It was all black screen which was frozen.

I also used Overwolf for teamspeak, very useful because it displays in the top left when someone is talking so you EXACTLY  know who it is.
This is useful if you're in a clan.

EDIT: OH something important I want to add, I'm CURRENTLY playing FULL SCREEN.
Now I also tested if WINDOWED would work and no it doesnt at all, its completely blocking third party applications like steam, (shift+tab) doesn't work for steam.

I just tried it with my modded-to-hell copy, works fine. Are you runnin gGTA4 as administrator? It's possible that Overwolf is unable to do anything to it due to permissions issue.

Yes I just ran GTA 4 as Admin and still doesn't work.

Went to GTA IV directory and right clicked on LaunchGTA.exe as admin, doesn't work still sadly.

I'm running windows 7 ultimate 64bit if this makes a difference.

I think that's the issue. Try running Overwolf as an admin, and/or try running GTA4 as a regular user (preferably the former)

Hey there,

The best fix I've found is often as simple as uninstalling and reinstalling Overwolf. Sometimes the client gets caught during the launch sequence and consequently a clean cache and install helps establish a cleaner hook up. Other than that it's hard to know specifically whats wrong without seeing the log files. I'd suggest sending an email to support@overwolf.com with your log files.

Thanks!
