I recently just got LCPDFR on my new pc I just got for Christmas. Everything is working fine but when I call for back up the ORIGINAL police cars spawn to help. The problem is that when they spawn there light flickers. When I mean flickering... I mean when the lights are on the light on the top of the car is disappearing and then appearing. When the lights and sirens aren't on... I see cop cars that don't have any lights at all on the top of the roof driving around! Now, don't get me wrong I do see my police cars I added from off LCPDFR. I think the cars I added do spawn when I call for back up. Now, its just the original cars that the lights flicker. Example: POLICE2.

I do have the updated ELS if that helps.

 

After looking through LCPDFR configuration settings I found this....

Under

[Main]

SuspectTransporterModels=POLICE;POLCE2;PSTOCKADE

 

Is this the correct place to change back up police cars?

If so, how can I customize to my likings?

If not, please tell me where is the correct place to change my back up police cars?

 

Also whats the GTA IV machine gun name so I can add it in my Police car Trunk?

 

Please help me out.... Anything! Youtube videos, directions on how to change backup police cars, websites, etc.

Vanilla cars don't use ELS, they're called Non-ELS Cars. The best kind of cars. Uninstall ELS and give it a try. It's great.

Do you have police and police2 custom installed? If you do not sure where the problem is but you can try installing custom cars for police,police2,noose,fbi,nstockade,pstockade and polpatriot. If you don't usually either police or police2 come as backup. With ELS, it doesnt work with default cars. If the car doesnt have the lights on there wont be any ontop but if they are they will be disappear and reappear from the car.

it looks like you are using ELS with NON ELS CARS,  set the ELS options for those cars  to OFF at the ELS config file or change the cars to ELS cars

the above section is to change the PRISON TRANSPORT car (the car you call to take a prisoner to the police station when you do not want to do it your self)  NOT the back up cars 

 

i am sorry but i can not help you with the backup cars as i do not know that my self  i think we can not configure that (yet)

 when istalling LCPDFR 1.0c  there is a pdf file named user manual,  the gun names are in there  (as was the explaination for the suspect transport ;) )

You would need to swap out the car in the police2 slot (or police slot if you're using police2 as your custom car) with another custom car that is built for ELS.  Otherwise, you would need to modify the _SLOTCONTROL.ini file in the ELS folder underneath your main GTAIV folder, and make sure that all cars except for your custom car is set to "off" to disable ELS on all the other cars.

It can be crazy confusing to mod GTA4 when you're new to it, so, starting from the top.

 

- Get ELS V8 here: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> and follow the installation instructions.

- Download Spark IV here: https://code.google.com/p/gtaivtools/downloads/list (this is what you'll use to install the cars)

- Download cars you like the look of; make sure they are ELS enabled! (lots to choose from both here on LCPD:FR as well as lots of other websites)

- Use a Youtube video to show you how to install the vehicles. I personally used this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Z-fipRLeAA

Thank you Stripe I have all of that set up already . I just want to change the NON-ELS cars to ELS Cars for supsectTransporter. The question is what do I put down for the car names. 

You don't really need to change what is listed for SuspectTransporterModels.  Most of the time, either Police or Police2 come to take the suspect away; if you want to be thorough, find an SUV or van that has ELS and replace the stock pstockade.  As long as you have a custom car for both police and police2, with ELS-cars, it should be good.

i remember having this problem if you want it fixed all you need to do is just get some police cars to replace the police, and police 2 slots make sure they are els though so you dont have the same problem

Yes, well I had the same problem too. I started playing around with it and I got POLICE and POLICE2 to be ELS cars. I don't know how I did it. But, I'm not touching it again! Thank you guys for helping me out even know my question was never answer fully. I figure it out somehow..... :)

Regular backup units are always in police or police2 (at least that's all I've ever seen) the only way they'll respond in something different is if you ask for a noose unit or air support.

noticed the same thing   i do hope we will get a option to change the other cars as well in the future  i would love to see a NOOSE team arive in the Nstokade i swapped out for a UC Tahoe constantly and not half the time  :)
