GTA IV not starting with scripts

Featured Replies

Yeah, I saw that too. But I get the problem even as admin.

If I do a re-install of GTA would you be happy to guide me through the modding process? Such as getting the scripts in. Vehicles, sounds and textures I can do fine. But would you be happy to help with the scripts?

You need to go to the "C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IV" location, right-click the "Grand Theft Auto IV" folder, choose "properties" from the menu and untick the box next to "Read Only" (click til the box is completely empty).

That also did not work. I did a fresh install of GTA, I then put the Dsound in, added LCPDFR and I'm still having the same problem.

So, I managed to get LCPDFR working. Or kind of.

I installed LCPDFR using the automatic installer. I then checked my directory to see if the mod was installed. It was. After that, when I went in game and pressed Crtl+P to start it. Nothing happened...

It's ALT + P, just for the record

I've noticed a small strange bug that the automatic installer did to me

It put all the files into a folder called "LCPD First Response", you have to make sure that those files are in the root folder, and not in LCPD First Response folder

So for example if before it was root/LCPD First Response/lcpdfr, they should be root/lcpdfr now.

Let me know if I helped you. ;)

Here is an example from my folder

To start LCPD:FR you have to press ALT P (make sure you're pressing left alt aswell).

Ctrl P forces you on duty (it used to in the previous version. not sure if it does in 1.0)
