Installation Issues

Featured Replies

Hi, having an issue installing the latest 0.95 RC2 LCPDFR.

The issue is when I try to install the mod using the installer it fails to install and produces an error.

Error:

Installation component 'CppScriptHook' error'd!

   at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)

at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy, Boolean useLongPath)

   at System.IO.File.WriteAllBytes(String path, Byte[] bytes)

   at G17MediaSetupEngine.UI.Interface.wizardControl1_SelectedPageChanged(Object sender, EventArgs e)

   at G17MediaSetupEngine.UI.Interface.wizardControl1_SelectedPageChanged(Object sender, EventArgs e)

Steps taken to resolve problem without any luck:

- C++ and .NET framework already installed

- User has full control over installation directory

- Installation directory is not set to read only

- Installer ran in XP SP3 compatability mode and as an administrator

- Extracting installer and running direct rather than from the temporary folder still produces same error.

If anyone has any pointers on how to resolve this, i'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

install LCPD: FR 0.95 RC2 to your desktop, then move all files manually to your gta install dir.

And run it as an admin (right click on the installer).

Hi, thanks for the quick replies.

Unfortunately, the installer fails even when pointed to my desktop.

However, a different error is produced:

Installation component 'LCPDFRModels' error'd!

   at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)

at System.IO.File.InternalCopy(String sourceFileName, String destFileName, Boolean overwrite)

Thought I might add to this.

Been having the same issue with installing, same error and all that.

So, going on a feeling, I turned off my firewall/anti-virus and guess what... It works!

Comodo/Avira must have prevented something, so I would suggest turning off every firewall/anti-virus feature and try installing it then.

Well try to have a Rockstar Account, and instead of pressing 'Play Offline', press 'Play'. Have a Rockstar account first though.

Signing into my account fixed it, I had always pressed play offline in the past. Suddenly the installer just worked.

Thanks!

No problem, enjoy.
