My Build

Hey Mr. Quiggles!

I know you said te i5-4670k would be fine for my build but, theninja35 showed me that you can purchase an i7-4790k at MicroCenter for $249.99. I looked at NewEgg to see how much they offer the i7-4790k for and it is $339.99.

So, right now I could get the i7-4790k for around $20 more than the i5-4670k ($229.99). Should I do that? Why are the two prices so much different?

Here are the two i'm talking about:

MicroCenter i7-4790k: http://www.microcenter.com/product/434176/Core_i7-4790K_40GHz_LGA_1150_Boxed_Processor

NewEgg i7-4790k: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117369&ignorebbr=1

(I know that the MicroCenter is in-store pickup only but I'm fine with that since it's around a $100 discount compared to NewEgg.)

Thanks,

Jake

I can't say I know the reason why those prices are quite different. The microcenter does seem to just have a really good deal. If you can, it might be worth buying from them.

Merry Christmas!

The only thing a HDD will do is slow your loading times. It will not affect how fast your games run or how much FPS you get. I will be investing in an SSD soon for loading my OS. Boot times will be mu
