Hi guys, as written in the title, i was wondering if the veichles react on the siren or on the lights by the police vehicle. What do you think?
And i was also wondering what does the diffrent sirens actually mean? For example does the first siren mean ''Give space for emergency vehicle?

Well, put simply, this is how I use the sirens:

 

Wail, a long tone who's pitch rises and falls, and loops over and over again. I use it for running Code 3 down regular streets.

Next up is called the "Yelp" siren. It's like the Wail siren, but it is faster. I use it when approaching intersections.

Third, is the Phaser/Hyperyelp/Pierce/Priority (They are essentially all the same) I use it when I'm running through intersections and busy streets.

Fourth, this depends on the HORNS.ivaud you have, this can be anything, but from HORNS.ivaud's I've had, it's the Hi-Lo siren. (The name is pretty self explanatory :P) I don't really use it.

 

All the sirens basically do is give a warning to drivers in advance that an emergency vehicle is approaching, and on its way to an emergency, so drivers can pull over to the side of the road and make room for the emergency vehicle.

 

Now onto the lights part:

 

A new feature that came with ELS v8 was this option in the ELS.INI configuration file, is that when your lights are on Lighting Stage 3 (all lights on), just the lights alone can move traffic.

This is the option: 

Lstg3LightsMoveTraf = on

Emergency lights do the pretty much the same thing as sirens do, they warn drivers that an emergency vehicle is coming, OR, they can also warn drivers of possible dangerous areas. Emergency lights can be used when, for example, an ambulance is going to a Psychiatric/Mentally ill call, they can use only the lights and not the sirens so as not to disturb the patient or others.

In LCPDFR, running a non-ELS vehicle and using those lights modes toggled by / still makes traffic to move away. So my guess is AI reacts neither to lights nor to sirens, they just pull over then the script tells them to :)
