Looking for help solving a Window/Window bars problem

Featured Replies

I'm having an issue with creating window bars. Mainly getting them to show up through the windows of the car. I set up the window bars the same exact way I did in past cars. But for some reason I can't get them to appear. They only can be seen once the window is broken.

I've tried everything I can think of. I thought that moving the window bars further from the windows might fix it, I tried changing the texture type from "vehglass" to "badges" might fix it, but to no avail.

I've been able to make this work on previous models, but for some reason it isn't working with this one.

Move the window bars below the actual window in your hierarchy and it should be fine.

If this works, I'll feel so stupid. Thank you!

EDIT: So....It didn't work, I still have the same problem. Should it be in with the windows or outside the windows? I have it outside of the window hierarchy but below it.

Yes, try to move the window bars into the windows menu. It should work this time! ;)

Tried above and below in the windows menu. Still no dice. :/

Invisible through the windows, and visible once the windows are destroyed.

Try attaching the window bars to the rear doors. Make sure to attach the right bar to the right door!

This didn't work either, I think it might have something to do with the texture being "vehglass". But I tried it as "badges" so I'm at a complete loss.

make sure the material the windows are using are below the materials the window bar is using in the materials editor that should fix it, it did for me when i had this issue

hope this helps

How do I move the materials? Every time I try to move them, they just create a sub section of the texture.

it would probably be easier to make a new material and assign the glass to it the new material be go down to the bottom so it SHOULD fix your issue
