Installing vehicles/skins

Featured Replies

Hello after seeing LCPDFR videos along with some of the community files I try to install certain vehicles/skins but they never show up

I use SparkIV but I don't know where to install the vehicles and skins to in order for them to show up on LCPDFR when I start it up.

Thanks in advance.

  • Forget that part, if you haven't installed the skins yet it won't make a difference. To replace a vehicle: rename both the files to "FBI" or "Noose". Then open up your img browser, such as SparkIV/

Please use the search function before creating a thread. There already are a couple of threads on how to install mods. I've already found two in 10 seconds:

Anyhow, could you be more specific about your problem? Are the modded cars not showing up or is it the textures that don't show up?

I have installed one but when it shows up it shows up as a ped car not a police car

as for the skins I need the directory of where to install them to for them to show up on the model selection when I start LCPDFR.

Have you added +livery at the end of the vehicle lines in vehicles.ide?

I have not tried that nor do I know how to do that.

To replace a vehicle:

  1. rename both the files to "FBI" or "Noose".
  2. Then open up your img browser, such as SparkIV/ OpenIV.
  3. Replace either "FBI" or "NOOSE" depending on what you names the files.
  4. Remember to rebuild the archive.
  5. Exit, Play Game.

Thank you for this I will try it.

Just click on one of the links I provided. It contains a video tutorial that explains everything on how to install car mods and textures.

It wasn't necessarily I didn't know how to install vehicles it's the fact I didn't know how to install it into LCPDFR.

and same goes with the skins I don't know how to install that into LCPDFR.

You don't need to install them into LCPDFR, once they are in the noose or fbi slot LCPDFR will automatically load them.

Gotcha and what about skins do I do the same thing as vehicles rename them to a police model?

Right now I have to think :)

  1. Open up your usual vehicles.img
  2. then find the vehicle that you want the skin enabled on.
  3. There is obviously two files for that vehicle, open the texture directory one and press edit.
  4. Look through all the images there and find the skin.
  5. Click replace and then find your new skin.
  6. Save it
  7. Check for any other skin files in the texture directory. There may be more than one. Just replace them all.

Some of the above may be slightly wrong as I'm not at home and have't used spark for a while.

I know that but I mean how do I get the model compatible with LCPDFR I don't mean Installing player models for niko I mean installing it on LCPDFR so when character model selection shows up I can go to that specific model.

You don't have to worry about compatibility with LCPDFR, since script mods don't replace default data. And I wasn't talking about Niko as well.

Just follow the tutorial to install the mods you like and you're done after that. Once you installed a car mod or player skin, you replace something default so you'll be able to select it in the selection menu.

LCPDFR hasn't got a selection menu of it's own so when you install a mod, it applies to the whole game and not just LCPDFR. So when you're off duty, you'll see your mods as well. When you mod a car for example, LCPDFR will recognise that car as the original, no matter what you replaced it with.

So what you're saying is if I download a model rename it to a certain police model then it will show up when I use the player model selection am I correct?
