• Give a clear, detailed description of the problem: I pulled somebody over in an LCPD cruiser, I got out and hit E accidentally at the exact same time as the getting out animation was being played. While stood next to the door,the computer came up despite me not sitting in the car. I was able to get the ID but when I went to check it, the cruiser was locked on me, civilian cars were also locked for me, even when I went off duty I couldn't get in any cars at all.tt

So your char wouldn't break the window either?

No, it played the locked door anim over and over, even when I toggled locked/unlocked doors with SNT, debug/reset scripts didn't entirely fix it either

Are you running VRC2?

to elaborate, I hit F to get out, but while getting out or at the exact same moment I hit E, bringing up the FR computer, I hit log out, then it bugged and locked the cars.

I have had this issue before now as well. I have many times been locked out of my patrol car. I never thought of trying any other cars at the time though. And yep can't break windows, animation repeats but can't open door and snt wont unlock doors. I had a hunch at the time it was an ELS issue. But if it affects civi cars then it prob' isn't.

Can't recal if I had hit E. Though that's an interesting aspect.

And like yourself the only workaround was a restart.

I've not got any ELS enabled cars at all on my two installs. (IV 1.0.7.0 or TBOGT 1.1.2.0 I think it is, least that's what OpenIV says), and I ran in front of a taxi and went to hit F, the animation just played over and over and over and over.

Interestingly, my partner's door was open at the time, but hitting F to get in it didn't work, it had the animation of running to the driver's door instead of getting in the passenger side.

I can try to recreate it if needed

Interesting.Think we can rule out ELS then. Only reason I leaned in that direction was I thought it might be a bug relating to model being respawned several times a second as it happened to me in my patrol car. And 9 times out of 10 when I exit the lights are flashing.

As I said when it happened to me I can't recal if I had hit E by mistake. Are all these incidents happening after hitting E on exit ? As it is begining to sound like being caught up in the computer script part and the game expects you to be inside your car at this time.

I hit E then immedaitely clicked log out yes, I was able to conduct a trafic stop as normal up until the bit where it said get back in the car to use the database

Happened again just now in a R* default vehicle (the cruiser) now

I think I see what happened, when the computer loads it triggers a naive that stops people car-jacking you and people ramming you, while you were getting out of the car you are still technically in the car and the computer is loadable, so as the door was open and you were half out the door was locked. I am not sure why it did not unlock when you logged out though.

I have had this happen to me before as well. Like Molton, I always thought I couldn't break in due to ELS, since my lights were on. I will say it happened to me tonight at a shoot out. Was trying to get out fast and ended up doing the EF thing to get out. Afterwords though I was able to get into another cop car that was left behind with its lights on. Still couldn't get back into my car, even later on when I drove by it again.

Happened to me as well

i never had the issue but try not pressing "e" whn exiting as it seems to be the problem, could the issue be with the car model itself?

no Boxer, as it happens regardless of model, its happened on R* default models and several other models i tried, it isn't car specific at all
