Clear dome federal signal vista lightbar (ELS)

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I've been trying to create this lightbar,

as you can see it is a federal signal vista with a clear dome. I have edited a mx7000 with a clear dome and it works perfectly, being clear then red & blue when lights enabled.

When trying to edit the federal signal vista to be completely clear before lights enabled, it shows up like this

I am using this emerglights file

If anyone knows how to make it clear without colors appearing before lights actually enabled, very much appreciated!

I think there is another texture somewhere that you need to edit. To start with, on your emerglights file in the bottom left corner where those boxes are, copy the white one and place it over the red, blue and amber ones so they are all white.

If that doesn't work try looking through the vehicles WTD for any textures that look like the lightbar and change them to white (unless it's the emerglights_emis file)

What model is that? i might download it and have a look if you can't figure it out.

whenever I try to mess with any of the other lightbar files the dome turns solid grey. the model is police2 in this pack

'?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

thanks for the help! im gunna try to figure it out!

You posted my video in your first comment so I can help you. If the dome turns solid grey you are using the wrong editing method. I use paint.net and I will try and put something together for you.

still haven't figured it out haha

The mistake you made is a simple one. In your emerglights.png you replaced the red and blue lightbar lens with a solid grey color instead of a transparent clear color. You need to go back and find a emerglights.png with a clear lightbar section like the original car did ( if you zoom in you will notice it is like a checkered white and grey). I think on the vista the center section should be clear by default. The computer needs that to understand that its a transparent texture. Kind of like the glass on the cars or the tint. I use paint.net to help me copy a small area of transparent texture (like the original center) and then paste it and adjust it to fit the whole lightbar area. I have the same vista with an all clear lightbar somewhere I will try and find the file but try to fix it in the meantime.

Also, I just found a clear texture on google. Copy a small section of this and paste it, the square should be really really really really small once you are done but that should fix it.
