MADRID (AP) — Health officials scrambled Tuesday to figure out how West Africa's Ebola outbreak got past Europe's defenses, quarantining four people at a Madrid hospital where a Spanish nursing assistant became infected. Determined to contain the spread of the deadly virus, they even announced plans to euthanize the woman's pet dog.

Texas? Kind of misleading title...

So yeah, thanks to the incompetence of our moronic Government that instead of containing the epidemy allowed to bring three patients, two of whom died due to their age and advanced stage of the illness, back from Africa to Spain to be threaten now this nurse, her husband and who knows who else could have as well been contagied. Hell, when this woman was moved to the hospital (she had previously contacted the medical services in various occasions but they didn't seem to give a fuck) the medical teams didn't know how the hell to proceed. So basically there has been a serious chain of errors with one simple conclusion: don't bring people infected with a hella contagious virus to your own country for electoralist purposes.

Today the dog was euthanized but not before a bunch of morons of animal organizations protested and tried fought cops and the descontamination teams who were working on the nurse's apartment because they didn't want the dog to be killed.

I think people are blowing the Ebola thing outta proportions. While it is a serious disease that would destroy us like the Plague, people are fearing for something that shouldn't happen. It's spread bodily fluids. But primarily blood, feces and vomit. Unless you don't wash your hands after using a bathroom, transmission is very low. Health-care workers are most as risk. It's not like just being next to someone with it is gonna get you sick like a flu.
