Wont start or game crash

Featured Replies

Hi guys, i have a strange issue, when i play on 1.0.6.0 or 1.0.7.0 everything works fine but i won't play on this patch because i have issue with constantly reloading textures on buildings and sometimes everything dissapears.

So i reinstall the game and patched it to 1.0.4.0, then i install LCPDFR 0.90F + Hotfix (i removed dsound.dll because im using xliveless ) then i started game, load and... Booom, game crashes.

I found liveless dedicated to 1.0.4.0 but Diagnostic tool said that is incomptabile with lcpdfr. But with this version game starts with no problems but ALT + P wont do anything... (it only changes blur)

Have anyone ideas for it? i think Liveless may be cause of this issues.. i tried many versions but they are incomptabile with lcpdfr or crash game.. Maybe someone have similiar issue and have working liveless with 1.0.4.0 and LCPDFR?

I am using scripthook provided with LCPDFR

i am adding result of diagnostic

The newest version of LCPDFR only works on 1.0.6.0 or 1.0.7.0. Also, you're supposed to download 0.90F first, then the hotfix.

Yes i installed 0.90 F and then hotfix on it.

So there is no way to run it on 1.0.4.0? I didnt see note that is comptabile only with 6 and 7, everywhere is written that is comptabile with 4 and higher

Readme says:

Version Information

This version of LCPDFR is fully compatible with versions 1.0.2.0 - 1.0.7.0 of GTA IV and versions 1.0.0.0 to 1.0.2.0 of EFLC.

Thats wrong. 1.0.4.0 is twitchy with the mod. Jay even said "WE COULD say it fully works..but after these reports, i and gonna say its temperamental"

By all technical means you should upgrade to the latest anyways, as it takes out some of the tardly 'Social Club' stuff.

Then patch it to 1.0.6.0.

on 1.0.6.0 i have it too.. game is running ok sometime but then suddenly slow down and everything dissapears

1.0.6.0+ implemented new graphic settings, you may need to tweak with them a bit, try doing that.

In particular the draw distances if anything, the gray fabric like that shows up during pre-render, if it's not going away after awhile perhaps because it's trying to render more than it really can? Lowering the draw might resolve it.

Common issue with GTA4, the draw one. 1.0.7.0 and it's happening. How do you lower the draw?

on 1.0.4.0 i can play with 30 draw and detail distance, 19 vehicle density, high reflections, very high water quality etc.

on 1.0.7.0 to avoid dissapearing i must play at 20 (max 25) detail and draw distance, 9 vehicle density and, high water quality, off night shadows and sometimes lower reflections to medium to avoid dissapearing, wtf? is there any way to fix it up?

Gimme your specs.

If you turn off some of the new shadowing things it should help really, as those are what got thrown in with 1.0.6 as I recall.

As for controlling draw, the two slider bars that control 'Distance' are the draw distance bars, the higher they are the more it'll take, the vehicle distance one (Second slider I think?) doesn't effect things as heavily, but the overall visual distance (First slider) is what will heavily effect your performance, as well as GPU memory allocation.

my specs: Core 2 Duo 2,6 Ghz, 2 GB ram, GF9600 GT (512) , XP SP3

Im going to check your advices, now i dont have any issues but i think GTA was working better with higher details on 1.0.4.0

I'd suggest being careful pushing a Core 2 Duo to 6GHz unless you have one hell of a water cooling setup, on air that's not really smart unless you have one of the later 45nm models they released right before the i7 series.

Otherwise that and your GPU are for the most part alright, just 2GB of RAM is gonna hold you back a bit though, I'd grab another 2GB myself really.
