Problems regarding DLL files modified(?) by LCPDFR

Featured Replies

Hello all, sorry if this is the wrong sub, the LCPDFR tab told me to include the logs, which do not involve anything regarding my question.

I have a problem regarding my Mic setup. Possibly caused by LCPDFR modifying files.

So, I downloaded LCPDFR a few days ago for the standard GTA4 and used the Automatic Installer. I used the Dsound way of installing because I already had a fix for the GFWL problem. But, I also downloaded and installed it once into my Episodes of LC folder, which I didnt even had installed on Steam, I continued regardless and downloaded it again for the standard GTA4. Everything worked fine. I played GTA4 with the mod and after that I thought about installing it for Episodes of LC too, which I did. Mod worked fine, but I used the different install method now.

I closed my game, started up Gmod, and tried to use my microphone. Noticing it didnt work, I thought it was turned off or had something else to do with it, thought nothing of it so I just used text chat instead. Next day, mic still didnt work, so I tried to configure my audio settings (I use Windows 8.) in the menu down on the right. Try to select my mic and it crashed. Showing the message "Gemeenschappelijk DLL-bestand van Windows Shell werkt niet meer!" which translates to "Common DLL-file of Windows Shell stopped working!"

I had never seen this, and it kind of shocked me. Thinking my microphone broke. Alright then. Today, bought a new mic for 40 Euro's and plugged it in. Same problem, rememberd downloading the mod and saw it had a DLL file; sound.dll. So I looked up the problem and it said things about a DLL file called: shell32.dll. That was still there, untouched so that couldnt be it. I tried resetting my computer to a few days ago before I installed the mod, but it just wouldnt do that, as I got an error. Now I have no clue what to do, and would really like to fix this because I use my mic for everything.

Again, sorry if this is the wrong page. I just really need a fix for this if known! Tried re-starting too. No game.

Pic related, this is what happens. I can adjust speakers just fine, just if I click on one of the 2 mics it crashes and displays that.
