Who drives those Fire SUVs and trucks

Featured Replies

Hey I'm wondering if someone can tell me who drives those fire company suvs or light duty trucks. I looked online and I can't tell if it's for the battalion chief(?) or just a suprevisor. I'm not good with fire stuff. Fire skers meh

It's dependent on the Dept. however most FDs follow the same principle.

This is my dept. set up:

Marked Truck/SUV with the word "Fire 300" on the side: Fire Chief

Marked Truck/SUV with the word "BAT 300" on the side: Battalion Chief

Any regular marked Truck/SUV: Possibly fire marshal, volunteer truck, squad truck, etc.

That's pretty much the basic principle. The biggest ones are going to be the Fire 300 and BAT 300. Some departments that are larger may have supervisors, safety officers and many others but they're pretty rare from what I know.

If you're talking about the SUV and things like Tahoes, expeditions, etc...then it depends. some DEPT have it for Fire Paramedics (that way they don't have to send a big truck) or maybe it could be a supervisor or chief, but it really depends on the city and the dept.
