Hey guys!

First off,I am NOT new to modding.

Secondly,I'm confused and have been banging my head onto the wall after a problem,so...yes,I need some assistance on an issue.

IDK what happened to my "heavily modded" GTA last time but it was all f*cked up and showed symptoms like none of us have seen ever before,so I reinstalled a new fresh copy. And I'm modding it again.

Now,I do have a high-end pc,but due to the fact that I not only mod the police cars, but the whole game as well (including graphics mods, civilian car mods, script mods, blah blah blah...),I have to be very careful so that I don't stress the game engine enough to,shut itself down/crash.Thats why,I'm minimizing the risks this time and I'm trying to install LQ police car mods, and if possible,non-els too. Now,the situation is-- I've,on one hand,a CVPI lesser in file size, and on the other hand, the new Whelen Edge Crown Vic by Sam which claims to be very LQ poly in comparison to other CrownVics as well as non-ELS,too.Clearly,I cannot decide so as to which file do I want.

So,which is the most likeliest cause of crashing the game- ELS or file size?

I mean,if the CVPI by Sam is LQ poly, then why is it so that it has to be slightly bigger in file size than the other CVPI.And if I ignore the file size issue, will the non-els feature will help decrease my crash timing?

Think his main enquiry was is it ELS, or the file size of a car that is the main offender in causing issues.

TBH I am not sure. Though I was always under the impression it's file size, and ELS is just an aggrivating factor making whatever the file size load several times a second making things worse. So my guess is both play a part but would be good to know if anyone has any concrete theorys, or has tested out Low file size ELS vs huge file size non ELS (if such extreme examples can be found) to see what is the main offender.

Hard to tell without testing or being told by someone who knows, as most ELS car are by their nature large in size to begin with.

Yeah, right. Most of the times, the ELS lightbars are themselves so high poly that even if the devs want, they are unable to do anything to bring file size down. But as far as I know,ELS has to respawn the same car with different patterns everytime,in order to make it look like the lights are changing and thats what overloads the memory.

As for the regular cars being spawned, yes I have not modded the Police1 and Police2 slots, but they contain the game's original models, slightly modified by Luxart to spawn with different liveries everytime.
