I am new to modding and I am unsure on what software to use for this and how to do it.  I have tried to use zmodeler but the program needs to be registered to import files.  Is anyone able to suggest some free software and let me know how to do it?

Your gonna have to buy zmodeler. It's $30, but it's totally worth it, and I don't believe there is another program that deals with gta files

Well, 3ds Max works but only for modelling stuff, not really downloading+attaching files to it. You're going to have to buy Zmodeler 2.26 or whatever (do not get Zmod 3) to do that.

 

There is no free software to do this. As they told you you need ZModeler v2.2.6 http://www.zmodeler2.com/ You can download it for free but you can't access the much needed features to model so you must purchase it. Not 100% sure what the price is now days, you'll have to check it out. As for "letting you know how to do it", modeling isn't something that can be explained in one paragraph. I'm not going to sit here and tell you its easier because its not, its a long, tedious, and difficult process. Don't let that discourage you though because once you learn how to do it, you can make whatever you want. The tutorials section here on the site has some great beginning tips and tricks to get you started as well as YouTube. Within a few months you should have a good grip on the basics. Good Luck!
