Cant apply H1 patch.

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.

I just bought Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories yesterday, i dident close my laptop the whole night because of being downloaded.

Now that i have the game, from STEAM, i am trying to install LCPDFR, and it works pretty neat.

The only problem now is, i cant apply the latest patch / hotfix for it, it tells me to direct the patch to the Grand Theft Auto directory, and i do - but everytime i try, it only tells me "Fail: unable to open source file" - and i have tried and tried and tried, but without succes.

What am i doing wrong?

When i installed it the first time (LCPDFR), it could patch it perfectly, but now when i have installed it correctly, it cant.

Kindly regards Alex.

Strange, I've got Liberty City Stories on steam but haven't tried installing LCPDFR on it. I may try in a min and see if I get the same problem.

Thanks buddy.

Because i mean, i think the correct directory is "EFLC" - but eventhough i try another folder, it will still say the same thing.

Thanks again for trying it out.

Here is an image if this helps anyone.

SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM EXPLAINED HERE:

1) Remove all of your files from your folder, where LCPDFR is installed

2) Right click on the setup file, and install it again

3) Take the files from the folder "Scripts" and the other files, and drag them into your main directory where GTA IV is placed

4) Right click on the H1 setup, and guide it to your main directory where GTA IV is placed

5) Press "PATCH" and wait for it to be done

6) Load up your game and press ALT + P, if you did it correctly, you should be taken to the menu where you select your police officer and your car, and to be 100% sure, it will say LCPDFR 0.90F H1 in the buttom of the screen, this means you have the correct patch ect.

LOCKED - request.

The solution:

I too had this problem, you need to send it to your main GTA folder, NOT your LCPDFR folder. If that doesnt work, you send it to where the LCPDFR configs and dll's are. One of those should work.

REMAIN OPEN - Request

Remaining OPEN means every one from high heaven can post...locked means you can view and not reply..you realize this...right jet?

If you use a genuine version of GTA IV (the genuine version has registry strings the setup can use to automate everything), and not illegally downloaded, you can avoid all these problems.

The G17 Media diagnostics tool will soon be updated to make it if you don't have a genuine game, it will show us and we won't help you.
