Is that thing good?

Featured Replies

Alright, I know this had been asked for million times on that forum, but I need some advice on my PC, please.

Specs are:

Intel Core i7 3770 3.40 Ghz

8.00 Gb RAM

GeForce GTX 760

The problem is, I'm not a pro with computers and all. My PC keeps overheating when I play GTA or Battlefield 4, reaching 74C and showing BSOD (probably 'cause of anomalous hot summer?). My question is whether my PC is enough to run GTA, ENB, some other mods, and would it be good for GTA V?

Thanks everyone for responses!

Yeah, looks good enough to run GTA IV on high with an ENB with smooth frames. You probably couldn't run the best GTA IV ENB ever with Ultra settings, though.

Do you have any fans on your PC?

Yes, you will be able to run both IV, mods and an ENB whilst retaining high fps. For GTA V however, I really can't give you an exact answer, but my guess would be yes. There aren't any games out there (that I know of) that ask for more then you have, and your specs are above recommended for most games, including 'next gen' releases.

As for you PC overheating; do you know which part is overheating? GPU, CPU, ect? If not, download "HWMonitor" and tell us which part is overheating. Like Ninja said, how many fans do you have?

Yeaah, I suppose I do.. At least there's one next to CPU and another one up there. Well, I guess I need to to something with cooling, and I'll d o it, in the meantime could you tell me if that's dangerous? Can that overheating, like, melt something?

Definitely CPU since I saw a message popping 'Warning CPU 70 centigrade"

Overheating may cause the part that is overheating to fry out (not work) and possibly other parts, including the part it is connected to or any wires that are attached to that overheating part. Usually this happens either when the heat is very, very high, or when it is high and happens for a relatively long period of time.

Yes, yes, and yes. If you do not have proper cooling you can overheat pretty much any part of your PC and it can lead to permanent damage. This is an easy way to destroy Hard drives, CPUs, GPUs, and PSUs (although these normally come with fans.)
