I have added two cars to GTA IV (the Cadillac One Presidential Car and Ford Expedition Police) - both are ELS enabled but I can't run the ELS lights with them. They've been added into the game and not replaced. All other replaced vehicles (police, police2) work fine with ELS. I don't know what the problem is and would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Open _SLOTCONTROL.ini in the ELS folder and add the following to the bottom, replacing "MODELNAME" with the name of the model you added (if it's cadillac.wft, then it would be CADILLAC) and "VCF" with the vehicle configuration file for that model. If there is no VCF, then replace "VCF" with default_config

[ MODELNAME ]
Status = on
File = VCF

 

Example:

 

[ CADILLAC ]
Status = on
File = default_config

Unfortunately, that didn't work. I did what you said, entered the game, spawned the car, disabled trainer keys and began spamming J, K, L, T, Ctrl-M and every other ELS button. Nothing happened. This is from the bottom of my _SLOTCONTROL:

 

[ PRESIDENTONE ]

Status = on

File = default_config

EDIT #2: I renamed the Cadillac Escalade model to police3 and the ELS worked. This must be a bug in the system where only the preset models in the file respond to ELS.

I did the same as he did but with one extra step. I don't use the default_config file. I found that using default_config doesn't work for other car slots for an example bus. So I create my own config file than it works. 

els will only work with exsisting vehicles names and a few other that have been added there is a list in the files that come with els
