LCPDFR Multiplayer - Added lightbars/blops not showing

Featured Replies

Hello once again everyone!

I love this mod, but today me and a friend got a great idea. Playing it multiplayer and going on-duty together! We thought that seeing all these videos on YouTube showing people having nice cars and patrolling together, we really want to do that aswell! So there we were, we installed the same mods, we booted it up. The first thing we see is a working mod, we get happy, but then things start going downhill.

The first thing i see is the lightbars not showing at all in the car selection screen, but i didnt think more on that, they were showing after spawning a vehicle anyways!

Then, when we activated our lights, all we see is static lights. The lights on top of the vehicle is moving and doing what its supposed to do, but the issues is that theres a glowing white blop on the front-top side, not sure why its even there, but also, the other lights in the vehicle are just static. Warning lights, lights thats inside or on the sides of the car are not moving or flashing or anything. This is a issue we tried to solve, and we have not given up yet, we've seen videos having it, so it cant be impossible as theres video evidence, and Yes, we've tried using the vanilla G button and the ELS v.8 keys.

The mods we've installed is :

-LCPDFR 1.0c

-ELS v.8

-Freecam

-Graphic enchancer (I have icEnchancer, he have another version of ENB)

-NYPD Car Pack

Any solutions or hints and tricks is appreciated! We've seen videos, we're not giving up, and if its working for others, why is it not for us?

Regards,

Xariez

Moving to GTA IV Support Requests as this doesn't relate to the LCPDFR modification.

Can you post a screen in game of what you are experiencing? ELS 8 acts differently in multiplayer than it does in singleplayer.

Also, did you enable the ELS vehicle in _SLOTCONTROL.ini, and is the file set to the correct configuration file?

I will post a screenshot whenever i get the opportunity to (Hopefully tomorrow, when both me and my friend will be online).

The _SLOTCONTROL.ini doesnt need configuration, since the files name was the same, atleast, i think its that way.

Can you link the vehicle pack you are using, and also post your _SLOTCONTROL.ini file?

I just found out that we are using a car pack that my friend customized around a little with, but we'll try with a open one tomorrow and see if that works, since the problem only occures under multiplayer.

However,i can post my _SLOTCONTROL.ini file .. (Of what im aware, its the plain vanilla one) :

// ELS VEHICLE SLOT CONTROL FILE (ELS V8.0)

[ AMBULANCE ]
Status = on
File = ambulance

[ FBI ]
Status = on
File = fbi

[ FIRETRUCK ]
Status = off
File = default_config

[ NOOSE ]

File = noose

[ NSTOCKADE ]
Status = off
File = default_config

[ POLICE ]

File = police

[ POLICE2 ]
Status = on
File = police2

[ POLICE3 ]

[ POLICE4 ]

The issue is probably that the ELS cofig file isn't correct for the vehicles you are using. The name after "File" is the name of the vehicle configuration file that you want that car to use, not the model name of the car.

I do believe i understand that after "File" you need to specify what config you want (ambulance, default_config, fbi, noose, police, police2). Would it matter when it works in SP though, and if it would do, im not sure what i'd need to change.

I'm not sure what could be happening, but this is relevant:

From ELS User Guide, included with ELS V8

4.15 – MULTIPLAYER
ELS is primarily intended for use in the single player version of GTAIV. Due to GTAIV’s limitations, particularly with respect to multiplayer synchronization, it is very difficult—if not impossible—to ensure that one player’s ELS experience will be mirrored on the machines of the players around him without any discrepancies. However, though issues will persist, steps have been taken to ensure as smooth a multiplayer experience as possible. Indeed, advancements have been made which allow some ELS features to synchronize (most of the time) over an online server. Though, due to the volatility of the overall GTAIV multiplayer experience, complete ELS stability cannot be ensured. Therefore, in order to mitigate the probability of issues, it is recommended that players using ELS online do so on private or controlled servers, where all players should use the same vehicle models and ELS configurations. Players should also ensure that the Els_Ai_Mp feature in the ELS.ini is set to on. This will allow ELS to detect and animate the AI-controlled vehicles, as well as those of other (human) players.

The following ELS features should normally synchronize online: WRNL, SECL, PRML, CR, TL, NL, BL, and AB. Thus, if a player activates any of these features, it should be apparent for all other players as well, provided that the Els_Ai_Mp option is set to on. However, flash patterns will not synchronize. Instead, other players will always see a random pattern. Though there is a workaround: if all players are using the same ELS configurations in which they have set default pattern IDs for the various lighting tiers, then the same patterns should appear for all. This should be especially beneficial for clans or organized groups of players. (Note that even if default pattern IDs are set, should a player change a pattern mid-game, only the original default pattern will ever be seen by others.) The AB feature will synchronize in most cases. However, at times its behavior may become unpredictable, at which point it is recommended that the user turn off all ELS features that may be active on the vehicle, discard or delete the vehicle, and transfer to a new vehicle.

When joining an online server, spawning a new vehicle, or repairing a vehicle, it is possible that all or some of its ELS lights may be active (in a steady, non-flashing state). In these cases, it is recommended that the user set the system to LSTG 3 and then back to LSTG 0 in order to correct the problem.

I looked through that spoiler, and my friend shared hes ELS and vehicle files at the time, so we got the exact same there. He also has the Simple native trainer, if that could make ANY difference? Doubt it, but if you are aware of that. If we'd completley uninstall ELS, we couldnt use the ELS lights though (the lights other than the headlights and lightbar on the top), right? And as i said in the first post is, theres so many videos on the internet proving that it works, so something got to fix it.

Well, I need to see the vehicles you are using, because it sounds like they may not be ELS activated. A vehicle can't have ELS lights mixed with non-ELS lights, so there wouldn't a lightbar that works without ELS as well as lights that only work with ELS.

I'll show you it when we use a public/open pack, hopefully later tonight, if not, tomorrow.

I got to ask though, if you have a car pack that does NOT have ELS and you have ELS installed, will it just not work, or will it give errors?

You have to set the status to off in _SLOTCONTROL.ini for the models that are not ELS activated. If you don't, the car will act weirdly.

Ah yea, i see that, but i believe all our models is ELS activated. Will check whenever i get the chance to. As i said, all im waiting for is my friend.

Right, so it doesnt seem like anyone feel like helping me at the omment, one of them doesnt have time and the other one has a PC issue.

I will close/unfollow this thread here, just to not just keep you guys waiting for an answer, wether you did so or not.

Thanks ALOT for anyone helping, and due to that i was not able to provide enough information, due to that i cant test it myself, i can not select a answer that solved it.

Thanks for your help! Quite sure you will still see me one day, sooner or later on these forums :)
