Huge problem! gta 4 crashing due to advancedhook!

I'm in a RP community and we have a mod pack. I've installed everything one by one to check to see why I was crashing at start up. I got down to the last two files (advancedhook.dll and advancedhookinit.ASI) These two files make my game crash as soon as i load into niko's apartment. I've done everything from updating all of my Microsoft c++'s and even tried to update framework 4.5 and everything is up to date. I can't even walk two steps in the game before it crashes...every..single....time. I'm really frustrated because I have no idea what to do now. I'm clueless to what else can be done. Somebody please help me!

 

P.S. I am running on Windows 8.1

What did you install one by one? LCPDFR files? Mods? More information please.

mods from our clans modpack. This whole problem all started with me downloading an enb, then removing it.  The enb config file kept coming back and causing crashes by itself. I kept deleting it and it still kept coming back. It was weird so i did a whole new install of the game. My game with all of our mods and etc.. My game worked completely fine before i installed an enb. But, I went through each mod, and folder installing them one by one..ran the game after i installed each one and it was fine...well, i got to the advancedhook.dll and advancedhookinit.ASI files and boom....as soon as i spawn into nikos apartment, it crashes. Idk what else to do. It's so frustrating.

Does it work without any other mods, except the files that are causing trouble?

all of the other mods work fine..until i put the two advancedhook files in there. The game runs fine without any mods, and I tried putting the advancedhook files into a fresh install and it crashed it still.

Do you have the latest patch? Can you provide a screenshot of your GTA IV Directory?

yes, steam automatically updated it to the 1.0.7.0 and yes hold on!

I think I know what the problem is, re-install LCPDFR 1.0c, It comes with its own AdvancedHook.dll and it may interfere with your clan packs ELS which also uses AdvancedHook.

I had the same problem a month ago and cp702 said:

While that was likely the case with this topic (it does indeed use the old AH), it is no longer the case with 1.0c that you should use the ELS AdvancedHook. 1.0b came with AH 0.29, which did *not* support ELS; ELS support was added with AH 0.33 (which was the version packaged in ELS 8's download), but LCPDFR 1.0c requires (and contains) AdvancedHook 0.34 (the version packaged with LCPDFR 1.0c). If you have LCPDFR 1.0c, or any version in the future, use the copy of AdvancedHook that comes with your copy of LCPDFR.

man, i did that! /: that was like the 3rd thing I did. I deleted all the lcpdfr 1.0c files and downloaded the new one from here, and re-installed it and still had the same problem/:

okay well, i re-installed lcpdfr 1.0c and deleted my saved game. Everything seems to be working fine now! gonna be testing it extensively tonight. Thank you ineseri and someone22 for the help! I appreciate it so much!
