0.95RC1 Problem/Glitch Unhandled Exception

Featured Replies

Whilst playing the game, after 10-20 minutes of gameplay i get a helptext message that says something like "lcpdfr error: unhandled exception. an unhandled exception has occured within the lcpdfr script. object reference not set to object" after that i have problems with basically everything, from pursuits to callouts, not being able to frisk, some missions not properly functioning, taser not working, randomly going off duty, etc, ect. I'm wondering what this is and if some of these problems could be remedied by downgrading to 0.91.

The forum wouldn't let me post my logs in the post (too long), so ive had to include them as attatchments. Thanks in advance for trolling through them to help. (sorry to make you dl them too)

If I'm right, it seems to be something to do with going on a foot pursuit. Have you got any other mods installed?

  • Author

On this copy of GTA, yeah, only Simple Native Trainer. Admins said it wouldn't cause any conflicts, and i only run them one at a time (close SNT before starting lcpdfr, and going off duty before opening the trainer back up).

You said it had something to do with the foot pursuit, but it happens whenever, like when im driving about waiting for callouts, or in the middle of missions. does that make any sense to you?

  • Author

It might also be worth noting that i installed it after lcpdfr (i ran it a few times before installing the trainer) but both before and after the trainer install i received to the same error under the same conditions.

I also get the unhandled exceptions occasionally but it never comes into effect of gameplay, i can still manage to do all of the above you said you couldn't....

I am using the xliveless ASI loader though so this may have something to do with it...

UPDATE***

Alright, with the devs taking a while to get back i just took things into my own hands and decided to downgrade to 91 until a stable 95 came out. I just searched the forums for "downgrade" and followed some instructions in a post to delete some lcpdfr files (everything in the scripts folder, and some dlls that came as part of the install. i also deleted the trainer.ini and dll that i had installed, as well as the dsound dll and the xlive dll.). When i went to install 91, it was fine (only installed dsound as opposed to dsound and xlive, i think that may have been my problem in the first place). Everything was peachy until i went to link my account through the install.exe, i typed my acct info and hit next and got hit with an error. It was a .NET framework box that said "Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you hit continue the app will ignore the error and attempt to continue. if you hit quit, it will quit. (duh.)

i hit the details dropdown, here are the contents.

See the end of this message for details on invoking

just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

application or computer (machine.config) must have the

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.

The application must also be compiled with debugging

enabled.

For example:

<configuration>

<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />

</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception

will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I havent done anything (backed out of the install) and i wont until i hear back a definitive answer from a dev. Not chancing fk'ing up my system.

Thanks!

ALSO i noticed you had xlive.dll AND dsound.dll..

Either one not both needs to be installed... Having both causes problems due to both loaders trying to load the module....

Please remove xlive.dll if you plan on having GFWL enabled with GTAIV, If you plan on playing ONLINE then you need to have dsound.dll installed within the GTAIV or EFLC directory,

Hope this can help with your problems....

This here is normal, If you leave the fields blank you will not get this error and 91 will install without a problem, just no logging is available as stated here....

You cannot link your account with 0.91, the server and API have changed since then.
