Error when starting game

Featured Replies

Every time i start up gta I get an error saying 'loader.loader error'. I have been looking for a while and seeing many people having the same problem. I normally look at the solution given and it doesn't work. Please help. I opened the lcpdfr.log to look myself and found i was apparently missing 'AdvancedHook.dll', but when I looked in the directory I clearly see the file.  I put the lcpdfr.log but had no clue what the others were, nor could i find them.

Hi,

can you post a screenshot of your GTA IV directory please? Also can you answer the following questions:

Legit copy of GTA IV?

GTA IV Version?

LCPDFR Version?

Other mods you're using?

Did you read >this guide and install all the prerequisites?

Ok i posted a picture. I dont know if this is how you wanted the picture, if it isn't just tell me and i will get a different one.

To answer your questions:

Legit copy: Yes

Version: 1.0.7.0

Lcpdfr Version: 1.0c

I have no other mods installed.

Also just to add, in the common errors support page under chapter 2, it shows the error i am experiencing but does not give the answer for me. I tried install .netframework 4.5 and it says i already have it installed. Thanks for the link anyway.

Great, have you ran the LCPDFR diagnostics tool to have it check your installation for you?

I have and it keeps saying the asi loader is not found even though i can see it has been and scripthookdotnet.asi is not found, also clearly seen in the directory. [ Random question: What does it mean if there is no colour in a bar? ]

Right well you've probably made an error during installation then.

My advice at this point would be to uninstall LCPDFR and install it following the manual instructions very very carefully. (Or use the automatic installer)

I'm not so sure about a colourless bar, would have to find out.

I would think its hard to make an error when dragging a few files and folders into a location, but even when i try the auto it still doesnt work. I copied the main folder and used auto install and it didnt work, then i copied the main again {not modded} then used manual install and still didnt work. Sorry one thing i didnt notice is that the tool is routed to the EFLC version of gta iv when im having trouble with just gta iv. How do i change what version it opens because i {clicked} opened it from the Gta iv folder not eflc.

Ahh.

Right, when you open the diagnostics tool in the bottom left is a tick box "Advanced Mode" tick that. Then when you go to "check installation" it will ask you to find your GTA IV.exe (which is obviously in your GTA IV directory). It will then check that installation rather than EFLC.

So for this, it says i'm missing the middle one or C++ Redist 2012. Is this what it is saying i'm missing? http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=30679

Yes but be sure to only get the 86x version (32 bit) and not the 64x version.
