So, i just purchased Action because i need a recorder and it's good.

 

I had this same problem before but i fixed it.. however doing the fix doesn't work anymore (atleast not for me) the problem i'm having is i open up Action, switch it to record desktop or selected area), start GTA 4 then boom instant crash.

 

it used to work before when i used a trial a few months ago :/

Are you using an ENB?  ENBs will sometimes conflict with video recorders and performance monitoring programs (EVGA Precision, MSI Afterburner, etc).

I use the same software and what Icon says is exactly right, if you are using an ENB or any form of graphics mod it will impact on the performance of the software and cause it to crash. When I was using the CryENB the only screen recording software I could use was Shadowplay (part of GeForce Experience).

Yes, I'm using ENB-SFE by dloo. if it's the ENB causing the problem, would there be a fix? there is a few people around (including NicolaiB) who are using and ENB with Action! and don't have a problem :/
